How does your game fit the Magical Girl genre?
The main character is a witch who can shoot magic energy blasts through her staff. She also has a conventional anime magical girl design (cute outfit, colorful palette, etc)
Which theme(s) do you pick?
I chose freedom dive and Pandora paradoxxx
How does your game fit those theme(s)?
The game is about the main character (who I called Pandora for bonus points) is trying to escape a dungeon, aka, she's diving into danger to find freedom.
Were the assets for your game made during the jam? Elaborate as you see fit.
The art and music were made during the jam time, but the game is heavily based on an older free to use template

Really cute game that's fun for what it is! It's got a nice sense of progression as the number of enemies starts to ramp up and their patterns become more complex. Hitboxes are a bit unclear and defensive powerups are usually a lot less worthwhile than offensive ones, but I enjoyed it overall :D
it will be better if the enemy hit box is much bigger, also is it that once i reach a new room, the old room will disappear.
So far it's a cute little roguelite shooting game. and i always enjoy roguelite shooting game.
Nice work, especially since you dove into this jam so late! I don't know much about the template you used, but the art and music is good and works well for this sort of random dungeon type game! I wasn't clear what all the different powerups did, but I collected a bunch regardless! At a certain point, enemies started following from room to room, and when I'd exit a room, I'd walk right into a bunch of enemies in the next room taking damage right away.
I imagine some of these issues have to do with the short amount of time you had to work on this. Still, nice work overall and I hope you keep working on it!
small but charming game. The core gameplay feels good but is not without its issues.
For one, the dungeon seems to forget and regenerate rooms you have visited which can lead to weird shenanigans. This includes getting an upgrade, leaving then immediately returning for said upgrade top have respawned. And once I got stuck in two dead ends forced to run between the two until the game decided to change one of them and let me out.
Enemies are fun and engaging at first with a small variety that differs them, but their health and damage scales up so fast where if you don't get many damage upgrades quick you are better off just running away.
But overall, negatives aside, good job on the submission especially considering the late start.
The hitbox of enemies need some polish. I need aim down to hit them.
Cool game! It feels very polished and reminds me of "Enter the Gungeon"!
