I'll admit I dragged my feet on playing this one, because I've never been a fan of "performance" games like Rock Band, and the thought of having to talk out loud and look like a fool was intimidating me. But I finally found time to play late at night with no one around and... it was good!

The game had no problem picking up my voice, and I was able to beat it with no problem, despite the fact that I spoke fairly quietly the whole time. I enjoyed the concept of a middle-aged man becoming a magical girl. The scenario in general was entertaining, even if there wasn't much story. If I can pick up and enjoy this game, I'd say you done quite well, as I think there'd be a big market for people who enjoy this sort of thing way more than me!

There's one elephant in the room that I've tip-toed around so far and that's the art. While it's fairly cohesive... I'm not a fan of AI art. This probably doesn't bother everyone, but it's a big turn off for me. I am glad you declared it up front though, I appreciate that. It's not as big a deal to me in a jam game, but if you were to make a full-length game out of this I'd like to see all the art made by the artist, not just the original concepts.

Otherwise, I think this is a really cool concept that's well executed and has a lot of potential. Nice work!

Thank you for playing our game and your kind feedback! We are definitely worried about how people are not fans of AI art, and we do understand! We are a small team of 4 people without any artist but we will definitely get real artist if we do decide to go full scale!

Glad that you enjoyed the concept and extremely happy to hear that it has potential!

Thank you

This was a very cohesive game. All the aesthetics and dialogue made sense together and fit well together. I appreciated the how the gameplay was explained both in text and with visual cues.

The only part that wasn't clear was exactly how the sincerity bar worked. I saw the countdown, but I still wasn't clear when I was supposed to speak. When I was reciting the text, sometimes the bar would still bounce back and forth, so I had no indication that it registered that I spoke. I did get the bar to turn red and the character banner would show on the screen, but in both scenarios there was a delay from the time I finished speaking to the time anything happened.

So, it may be that I just wasn't "sincere" enough, but I would have loved to have more of a clearer indication that it could indeed "hear" me. Maybe a meter showing the audio waves would be good? Or even have something flash, maybe the words "good" or "great" or whatever text is appropriate, the way the DDR games used to do to indicate if a step was timed correctly.

Lastly, great job to the character voice. It was a nice way to exemplify what the game was looking for, if anyone didn't know.

There is something that is so relatable to a middle-aged man who is/wants to be a magical girl lol. Great work with the use of theme and effects!

Developer

Thanks for your kind words! Let's not let go of our(? or maybe just mine) hope to legitamately become one someday.

The most intensive 30 minutes of my life.

Make sure there's no one around while you are playing.

Gosh, I died of cringe at least 5 times during my play O.o

How the f**k did you thought that playing back the incantation was a good idea? This is the cringest idea I've ever heard. Hopefully, I was not alone and the developper also pour their best performance into this Magical Festival of Cringe. The game is honestly so much fun that it might get banned in some country.

BOIN BOIN, BOUNSHI SUMAIRU!!!

Honestly, thanks for bringing so much fun into my day, we all need a bit of that sometime =w=)/

Also I think there is a bug when you return to the main menu after the battle as the play button is not displayed anymore...

Edit: Ah, I've been so carried away that I forgot to mentionned that the game is super polish, the art, sound  and presentation is top tier. If you make a proper story and more battle, I would pay for it straight away :D

I wanted to share the fun with my partner but the game was not recognizing the text anymore and after a few try the game did crash :'(

Also missing the transformation incantation still transform the character.

Thank you for the feedback and I will definitely check and fix the error.

Using the microphone seems interesting, but unfortunately it is not something I have available.

That's unfortunate T-T. You can use a laptop or one of those bundled earphones from your phone as well!
