Just keep going, and also can you play my game and rate it
Really liked the cohesiveness of the graphics and the sound. Well done!
Now, I can finally review this game. I had to play it twice due to the 1.1 version making me unable to get to the boss. However, this might show the potential as a speedrun game, since you can really speed up when you know stuff. The music was typically good. I didn't like the underground so much. It wasn't a bad piece, but I personally don't like the tone as much. The lore was a missed opportunity. Like we never knew who the mysterious figure was which could have made the story much more interesting. It's hard to tell me enjoyment with something sometimes, so do keep that in mind. However, the gameplay succeeds in what it tries to be. This could even be a standalone product. I will say the boss though while it did take me some tries was not what I was expecting. Sure, it works, but like I was expecting something different though it might have sort of makes sense.
Thanks for the review, and thanks for bothering to play the game again just to see the ending! I do agree that both the lore and the boss are underbaked/a missed opportunity, probably not surprising since both were some of the last things that I worked on and I was really struggling to come up with ideas for how the game was gonna end. I doubt there will be any more serious development on this game, but if there are then improving those areas would be a high priority. Either way, thanks for the feedback and I hope that you enjoyed the game!
May I know if this game is beatable because I couldn't go through the final path for some reason.
Ok, it turns out it was the 1.1 version that didn't work.
I loved the game, it's really fun to play with well-matched music, design, and effects. Everything seems perfect in this game, the only downside I could mention is that I don't find the limitation well represented, and I don't think it relates much to the concept of this jam. But in any case, it's an incredible piece of work. Congratulations!
I am glad that you enjoyed the game! I've been wanting to make a game in this sort of a style for a while now and that ended up taking higher priority than following the limitations of the jam. But I am happy that you liked the end result so much, thanks for the review!
