Notes from gameplay:
- Text is really hard to read in fullscreen mode, very blurry and pixelated
- I like the reload indicator for time remaining. Would be nice to have an indicator about how many shots I have left.
- Art feels basic and pixelated. The hellhounds are nice.
- Music is nice, but not sure if it matches the theme. Something a bit darker (more minor keys) and with a faster beat would fit the vibe better imo
- HOW do I use points to upgrade my skills?
- Can kinda cheese mechanics by standing in a corner
- I like how different things get dropped, but other than the heart, it's unclear what the items being dropped are
Overall, solid attempt and plays well!
- My worst mistake in this game was the interface. Many testers dont know how to upgrade the skills. I ask help to a designer and i upgrade this in my game jolt version (i dont know if i can upgrade this game here, because the time to submit is over). You can upgrade your skills clicking on "+" button in game over screen.
- If you collect hearts, more upgrades will appers, but the only "item upgrade" i finished was the hp upgrade. This is another mistake, because some testers thinks the hearts will recover the hp.
- Thats a good ideia put how many shots to reaload next to the character, but i didnt do that because this game is on a very low resolution, other mistake. Thats why all the texts are hard to read. My next game i will do in a bigger resolution.
- I try to compose a faster beat music. If i could i would like to compose something like "dark ennio morricon".
- I need to do a better pixel art, but i really like the hellhounds too. The demons and the character i like too.
Thank you very much.
I don't have much to say that hasn't already been said. Overall, it's a pretty basic game but it executes well on that and I didn't find any major bugs or glaring issues. Relatively easy and short. I did enjoy the enemy variation however they all had quite low health and offered little challenge. A solid foundation nonetheless.
Thanks. A good gameplay is allways my focus and my friends help me elimates all the major bugs. Its short, but this is my second finished game and i tried make it a little longer, my the time was over.
There's a lot that could be improved:
- An indicator when you run out of ammo would've been great.
- When I spent "100" points to upgrade my attack, it took 400 points, maybe look into that
- The music felt a bit repetitive
- The UI was way too fuzzy
I think i know how to fix the botton points bug. About the music, if i have more time I would have put more melodies, but I really felt that when I composed it it could generate this problem, but this was the best song that came out of my attempts. I'll try to do something more varied next time. About the UI, the game's resolution limited me a lot. Next time I will definitely use a higher resolution
Thank you so mush for the feedback. I will try do better in the next game.
All good dude! I'm no good at music so I usually just grab some royalty free songs to use, but if you want the practice, then by all means!
