Really strong concept here, I hope you work on this more one day.

Developer

Thanks! Planning to, just need to recharge some batteries and plan out the next steps.

watching the playthrough now, looks like you got caught in that progression bug. Wonder if you downloaded our game early on, or did you download it the day you streamed it?

Host

Ah I downloaded it on the day submissions finished. I will download it again and go through it!

Nice work!  I like how there was two phases of gameplay, one in the overworld and the other in combat.  That makes for some nice pacing.

Do you have any plans for the game after the jam?

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! Yeah, there were some cut features like shields and some weapon art that didn't make it in.  Fortunately I think it's in a place where adding that stuff in will not be too difficult as a lot of the support is already there.  And I want to smooth out the rough edges on the combat (and maybe reducing the amount of inputs).  Thanks for playing!

Of course, keep it up!

The boardgame styled ‘overgalaxy’ map is a really interesting take on stage selection and progression. I love the mech designs too

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! The map/progression was something James and I had been thinking about using in a game for awhile, and this was a good opportunity to try it out. Hex movement is kind of a nightmare to code.  Thanks for playing!

Really liked some of the ideas behind it, the battles were pretty fun! Would definitly love to see more of it expanded and more polished!

Thanks! Been trying to fix a couple gamebreaking bugs, so hopefully if you ran into those I'd hope you'd try it again.  From here I want to smooth out the rough edges on the combat.  There's definitely a lot more that I'd like to add (more weapons! more mechs! more animations! pilot portraits!) and I'm hoping we're in a good place to do that soon in the future.

Sounds exciting to hear that, I really liked the concepts behind it and Id love to play more of it with the updates!
