Nice solo effort, I'm not sure how the project file size is 1.2GB though, for a demo like this it should be a couple of hundred megs. It may be the asset pack you used, I would have preferred static targets to ones that are running into the walls. The enemy model aesthetic was too realistic for the scene design. With the walls it looks like the texture tile map was being stretched. You could have just gone for a plain low poly look, single or a few colours from a set colour palate and matched the theme, that would have felt better for me. The shooting felt good and the sound effects too, the explosions looked good but again were too real, I would have preferred something more matching the whole scene.
Thanks I started the jam late and spent most of the time figuring out the moving joystick.
The joystick is a nice touch!
this is a v fleshed out game for a one person team!
Thank you lol.
This is a cool test and concept for a mech game, the cockpit overlay is cool, and it's awesome that you even have moving control sticks! I do wish there was a bit more to it but for a solo project, still pretty cool. Also, is the cockpit texture map properly set up? some parts look a bit strange and squished.
I was having computer trouble and wanted to to get it submit it before deadline. I manually moved uvs around one face or a group of faces at a time to get a quick look going. Only got to work on it for like 3 days.
