Oh also LoveConnection made a roll20 page so people can play it with out having to get a tarot deck. https://app.roll20.net/join/5264472/GlOItg

Please let us know if you have any issues.

If you would  like to  use  the  roll20 screen to run a game  please message Evan B. on Roll20 . I'll make a copy of the  screen and  make you game master  of  the  copy.  You can also contact me here if that  is easier.

There is a ton in here! How on earth did you guys (no way was this just one person) get so much done in 48? Congrats! Here are the few thoughts I pulled from a very thick document:

  • Great premise! I wish there was a bit more about how one should play the artifacts in the GMs section.
  • The Situation Creation: an example of how a player would use the cards would be nice. Even with the section at the end... still wanted an example of play.
  • So the great thing you've done is breaking all the artifacts into their own splatbooks. And all of them are chocked full of great info.
  • Also, should be mentioned... the art style choice is great. The piece that threw me a bit was the cover to the GM's book (make it B/W).

Thanks for the great feedback!!! We'll take it all into consideration on our next pass on the game!! There are three of us and we all blocked out the weekend a month or so in advance and just ran with the first or second idea we came up with. Oh and didn't really sleep much for the 48 hours lol. I was lucky enough to have a regular board game group on that saturday that tested it so we even got 1 game of play testing to make a second pass in the hours right before the dead line lol. (you'll notice we submitted with 8 minutes left on the clock lolol.)

Thanks again.

Edit: also check out this roll20 we made if you want to try it out w/o needing a deck of cards https://app.roll20.net/join/5264472/GlOItg

Man... that's awesome. Congrats on having a great little group there.

Oh geez! I didn't even notice your time left! Way to get it in and have a playtest!

I'll check out the Roll20 when I get a  chance!

This is very dense, I think I get it, but I'd have to read through again before even thinking about running a session! This is more to do with my time management than anything else, as I was only able to give the four books  a semi-intensive scan.  I intend to do so in the future and, if I can get my hands on a tarot deck, attempt to run a game at some point!

I really love the concept of playing as a group of connected artefacts. I saw a beautiful solo (gm-less) game recently wherein the player composes the history of an object left mouldering in a dungeon (wish I could remember more information) but you've taken that to another level, mainly due to the introduction of tarot cards, which elegantly unite the central theme with the narrative mechanic.

On the graphic design side, the choice of the classic Rider-Waite deck throughout was excellent, but I'm sure you and/or your artist are giving serious thought to designing your own deck. I initially thought the separate pdfs were intended to be printed as cards, in part owing to their unusual dimensions (though I notice that they are much larger than card size, but more about that below).  I can imagine a presentation box with the cards inside and the booklets all stacked up neatly together... but I'm sure you have your own ideas for the kickstarter!

Regarding the pdfs (and their size), it would have been nice to have them all together and in more economical print format.Okay, I've written far too much: my intention is to read and review every single game in the jam, and I'm not going to make it if I do this every time...

Great work!

We are currently developing a Roll20 page for the game for people who do not have tarot cards ability to play.  Our next release of the game will be more manageable in file size and readability.   Thank you for the taking the time looking over our game.
