OK, I finally uploaded a video of my playthrough, it can be found here:
I'm so glad there was no jump scare, the rest of the horror game scene has conditioned that expectation into me so heavily that I was changing the volume and alt+tabbing constantly. This is exactly how I wish horror was handled
Yeah I can't stand jump scares either, but I love feeling uneasy and creeped out. I try to put those feelings into my games instead of the fear of being startled.
Fantastic and creeeeepy! This was a really cool and interesting! Loved the atmosphere! ++ that old school fps vibe too -awesome work! :D
Thanks!!!
This game looks really amazing and I loved the meta twist. Would have liked more to do. And also, inverted mouse. ;P
This was a nice surprise! Confusing as all hell, but a very enjoyable romp through a demented industrial building.
I always really like this graphic style, especially for minimal games like this, and it fit perfectly. The environments in some of the rooms were truly impressive for such a quick project! Good work.
Made a Lumps Play for it! Hope you enjoy.
Cheers and good luck in the competition! 🍻
Thanks for playing! I really like your video style, It reminds me of the old Popup Videos!
Very atmospheric and immersive experience. Had an antichamber feel to it, although there wasn't much in terms of gameplay, the weirdness of the experience was just superb. Well done on that meta effect at the end as well. Not sure what to make of the stuff happening in the tower, but I guess its open to interpretation?
Not sure if I got the true ending as well?
Thanks for playing! You definitely got one ending, but not the "true" one... :D
Hey man, thanks for coming and watching the feed! I really enjoyed this experience! I'm going to go back for that "True" ending! You wait!
Thanks, and great work!
This was really cool! I love the aesthetics, and it really messed with my head. Best of all was the "what the heck is happening?!?!" ending though, I'm a sucker for that kind of thing!
If I had any criticism it would probably just be that there shouldn't be a run button, the player should just run by default since there's never any reason to not run. That's a very minor complaint though!
I'm glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback! That's definitely something I've been noticing now that I've seen a few people play it. I suppose not everyone likes to crawl through games as slowly as me :D
Wow. That was incredible. I'm not a huge fan of horror games (I'm too easily stressed), but I do appreciate to feel a bit uneased. And this hit in the right spot! It inspires dread without relying on direct threat or jumpscares. And the "twist" at the end creates a very special kind of fear. It's really well built.
Thank you! I'm not a fan of jump scares either, I prefer atmosphere, tension, and unease. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
