Nice start here. I struggled a little bit because of the relative lack of guidance and direction (e.g. didn't realize there was a flashlight until I came back to this page) but the fps gameplay is not bad. I thought the telekinesis boss was fun to fight.

Great game — I liked that it was unique for the jam, and it was feature-rich (the upgrade system was cool) and polished. I have a few notes of feedback:

  • I'm not sure if it was intentional, but the Telekinesis boss is easily exploited by shooting him from the ledge.
  • When killing bosses, I collected matter, but it wasn't clear what the matter upgrades were. I unlocked Spectrum and Outburst, but couldn't tell if they were new abilities or something else. I really wanted to upgrade my gun, but never found the right materials.

That said, I enjoyed that this game was an FPS. It made it stand out although it maybe felt like there were too few Metroidvania elements. Although, that could have been because I didn't fully understand how some systems worked.

Thanks for the feedback.

Regarding telekinetic - this is an exploit, if in the future there is a desire to work on the project, I will try to fix it.

Matter is needed to create weapon forms (spectrum, outbreak and others) and mods for these forms (you can create 6 mods for one form). You can get matter not only from bosses.

Weapon forms - is not abilities

Unfortunately, the game does not fully correspond to the metroidvania genre, for example, backtracking is partially present in the game, as well as there is almost no non-linear increase in the complexity and interconnectedness of locations.

Something isn’t right. I start off in a dark room. There’s a green glowing box and an orange one and something that looks like it could be the eyes of a robot?? And a message pops up on the side. I think it says “too early, come back later”. Is this game not as done as the screenshots indicate??

Edit: I turned on the flashlight and got further. But everything is so dark. I wonder if this is an issue running a UE4 game under wine on linux.

No, all screenshots are taken in the game. The green and red glowing boxes are indicators above the doors showing whether the door is locked or not. If there is no indicator, then the door is a decoration.

Yes, the game is really dark in places, so I added a flashlight. Since there is no tutorial in the game, the next moment probably needs an explanation: the door at the back (which gives a message to return here later) is the end of the game, now it is closed and you need to kill 3 bosses to open it. Now you need to go through the open door and you will find yourself in a large room with 2 closed doors. You need to climb to the elevation in the room, there will be a terminal. When you approach him, those doors will open.

Also: press Tab while next to the terminal and you will save the game. While in the inventory next to the terminal, you can modify weapons, create new ones, and create upgrades.

If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask them.

P. S. In the screenshot below, you can clearly see the terminal on the right.

Yeah, this has got to be an issue with wine. The stand lights aren’t lighting things for me. Here’s a screenshot of the beginning area looking at the room exit with the flashlight on.

If I can figure out a fix or get a hold of a windows machine, I’ll come back and share my thoughts about the game. I’d really like to try it.
