Cool project, really like the art. I think the camera is a bit tight and the player itself controls weirdly. I think the map is a bit samey. Something super important for metroidvanias is the ability to create a mental map, and I find it difficult for your game as lots of the sprites are the same and there aren't many landmarks. Good job overall, excited to see whats next!
Thanks for your comment, it's the first work for our team as group as even as a designers.
We didn't want to exceed with detail, but this answers gives us more energy to improve ourself, we are now fixing some issues, with the game overall and this messages helps us to see where we can improve.
Big thanks from me, and all of my team
Cool demo, liked the music and most of the graphics but the different sizes of the pixels in the hud and the projectiles compared to the rest of the game made them quite inconsistent. Movement works fine, the jump is pretty floaty though. Shooting could be better, it's weird how it happens when you release the shooting button and even then it's delayed. I also think that it shouldn't be done with the mouse as you can't aim with it. One more gripe, the camera is very close so the character is huge and it's hard to see what's around. Overall this looks and sounds cool but there are many things that could be improved in the future.
Glad you liked the music!
This was fun! I figured out the music like you mentioned below, which is good because the music is great! The art and the level design are really good too. I think it plays fine, but it might benefit from a little tuning: you're like this super cool looking anime cyborg ninja guy but your jumps feel kind of floaty and his attack animation could be sped up a little more to match his character design. But all in all I had a great time!
Thanks for the support, we appreciate you had a good time play the game.
We are still working on updates and features to improve, every suggestion is welcome; knowing you enjoyed it gives us even more will to improve our game.
Maybe the only thing we have to test for more time is the jump, because as you said is kinda floaty but in the same time the platforms cannot be so close to eachother, but we will figure out a way to improve also that.
Good point about the platform spacing. When I've tried to tweak jumps at least in Unity, sometimes I'll increase the jump power but also increase the gravity in the Rigidbody2d, so they kind of balance out and the total height is the same, but the player falls faster afterward because it's like he has more weight. Definitely more art than science!
Glad you liked the music :D Glad you had a good time playing our game ;)
Cool art and neat mechanics! Super fun looking around the map. The sounds don't seem to be working for me?
Thx for the comment, I'm the team's dev. Thx for reporting me this bug... I tested it and it seems in new files it will start working after in the settings you just mute it with the buttons (in that case it will just turn it on, for the first time) .
I will do my best to resolve this issue, and there would be an updated version to be played. I don't want that to be a subject for the review of the jam, so I think it will be available after the review time, or as a separated file.
Still hope you liked it, sincerely, from me and all my team
