Thank you! Glad you liked the music! I tried to put a lot of little hints in it to add to the lore. There's a heartbeat in the more natural-sounding songs and none in the more "robotic" sounding songs (there are also some more little things if you listen closely ;)). Like my teammate said we are planning to finish this at a later date! hopefully, We'll see you there!
This game is cool, I think it has some good aspects. I don't quite understand what's happening? It goes from talking about Jak to Joe? Then Joe dies? I'm not sure... interesting though. I think the story hops around too much personally. It also introduces new characters very fast and gets rid of characters very fast, it feels like the player missed an epilogue (to me at least). The loading at the start of the game is also quite slow. Hopefully, you can continue to work on this project and fix these things. I do like some of the art though it's neat. Most of these things are easy to fix also so hope to see more!
When I played the opening actually didn't work for me I thought it was a mistake so I skipped it (it was a white screen) so hopefully you can fix that soon. I know it says nothing about AI parameters in the rules. I am a composer and personally would prefer if games used music made by people rather than generative but that's the future (it's already in Unreal). Hope you understand why I feel the way I feel. Good luck with your project if you continue it.
I think it's the angle that's bothering me. I'm not used to moving like that on an isometric field. Again it might just be me because the horizontal and verticle directions feel strange to input with my keyboard. Possibly slowing down the movement speed could help with this?
It also could be a visual thing with the test area. I can't pinpoint what is bothering me but that's the best I can describe. I will say it is a VERY cool idea! Sorry, I don't mean any of this as negative just some helpful criticism. (sometimes in jams people take it to heart, I even have myself). I hope this helps!
I like this game pretty fun. Though I was unsure what to do at first... I went the first day basically just looking at the screen and clicking around till I found the little minigame took me a little bit to figure out. I didn't realize the dolls killed you until I died the second day.
I think to fix those minor issues it just needs a tutorial or an updated game description. Easily fixable! Other than that the game is enjoyable. Although the Minigame music is a little jarring switching back and forth between that and the room music.
Great work! Can't wait to see more!
I will say I fairly enjoyed this game. Nice concept that should be continued. The music is probably my favorite aspect. I will say the battle theme felt a little of to me personally.
Running with the horse is quite cool and makes me feel like Im in that world. The battles I didnt understand, to be fair I didnt read the instructions since i never do with turn based combat (I like to learn on my own throughout the game). They felt quite slow as well but that might account for me not reading Lol.
Either way good game, hope you continue with this.
This game was great! The only issue I had with it was the audio sometimes would break? there was a hissing noise in the level song and sometimes the sound effects were panned all the way to left or right, mainly the jump sound effect. I also thought the final song was a little jarring but still great work! I love the charm and little jokes at that tutorial. Made me smile. I also liked the hellevator or the water bucket save pretty funny as well. Hopefully it was a reference it Terraria or Minecraft Lol. Great game! Perfect length. One more thing I liked was the game design. Combining all the elements from the first 2 levels into the last one but also adding another element to it. I would love to see more of this game!
The strongest part of this game is the art and the map. The music personally feels like something is missing, maybe stronger emotion? Boss fight felt a little anticlimactic maybe some NPC's talking about a big mysterious creature or some story would've helped that overall though I can see the point driven. Overall good job!
Yeah, I agree with the guitar section. I just listened to it and realized what I played was not correct. Thank you for pointing that out, sometimes while sitting at a desk doing music for like 3 hours straight I'll miss little things like that, the guitar was the last thing i added as well. I don't know how I missed that considering the chord progression uses borrowed chords. So the solo which stays in the original scale doesn't hit with the notes. It's irritating to listen to for sure. I'll have to fix that for the official release. Thank you for pointing that out! Also with the violin part I was trying to hit home with the sonic feeling and they use violin/viola and I get why someone might not like that. Thank you for your input on my piece of music!
