Nice submission! I'd second Dan's comment about the movement, but regardless a fun and simple game.

Simple and sweet game, though the movement feels a bit rigid for me - even if you’re avoiding floatiness, I think a bit of easing on the velocity would go a long way for game feel! Also, the enemies coming in from the left aren’t telegraphed for long enough, I feel.

I tired to make the controls a bit smoother, but I didn't have time to balance it, because you add accelerating or change the speed a little bit, you break the balance of the game, it becomes way harder that it already is, because the ship becomes less reponsive or slower, and you have to account for that. Making actual decent level design is hard. If I add acceleration would only add a little, also the ship goes faster when moving diagonally, which is a common bug for games with  8 directional movement and makes the controls a bit weird, I tried to fix it, but, you know, time xd.

Yes, the enemies that come from the left could have been better telegraphed. Thank you for playing!!!

It feels so good to have fast and responsive controls after playing so many games with floaty physics! I don't know if I reached the end, I died when the screen stopped scrolling.

At first, I didn't know why I lost because I killed all the enemies without getting hit once, but I still ran out of fuel. I think it would be more intuitive if you could still collect the fuel after it's gone off the screen, and maybe make it drain a little slower so you don't have to play perfectly to get to the end. But overall, it was very good! Very satisfying sound effects, and it gets very intense at the end when you have very little fuel and have to kill enemies as quickly as possible to recharge it.

Developer

yes, you got to the end! There was supposed to be a messege telling you that, but idk why it was not there.

If I made it so it drains slower and you could collect the fuel even if it's off screen, the game would be way too easier, way less intense, and very likely kind of underwhelming because it's actually really really short. If I updated it, I would make it longer and easier, and probably have levels of dificutly.

Thanks you so much for playing!!!

Cool game! Definitly has a lot going for it.

Thank you for playing, :) did you get to the end? I just noticed a buf that makes it very ambiguous whether you are at the end or not xd.
