Use of the limitation
I already had a full blown game in my mind after seeing the theme so when the theme was announced, I only incorporated it in the lore where the game's premise is the player's fault.

Cookies eaten
None. I don't know why but my sister likes cooking chicken fillet and I'm kinda sick of it. Still delicious tho...

The art and presentation is great, but it was quite difficult to grasp the game mechanics.

Developer

Yeah I realized that just after submissions. You could download the standalone version if you want. If you actually downloaded the standalone one, then that means I truly messed up the tutorial. Anyways, Thanks for playing!

Great Game! Loved to see another game made using pygame :)

This game is really cool! Simple but a great gameplay loop!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Short but sweet. Levels 4 and 5 are pretty challenging but managable after a few tries. I don't know why but playing it remainded me of splatoon. Were you in part inspired by it?

Developer

Thanks for playing. Unfortunately I don’t know that game but I’ll try to play that and see the similarities for myself.

Level 5 is really hard, the white tiles are breaking so fast! I almost lost track of time playing this game, it's really simple and easy to pick up, I didn't know I could jump until I went to the game page, a simple tutorial could help a lot. I think this is my first time playing a python game on itch, excellent work!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Means a lot to me. I’m currently working on a tutorial rn. Before you lose hope, level 5 is actually the last level. Then the ending would play out.

Really cool, level 5 is my achievement :) it made me want to do it again and improve my score!

btw, I love the minimalistic art of your game !

And like you said here, a tutorial would be perfect to help the player get into the game.

...Level 5 is actually the end... This is what I was most worried about.  My game looks like a loop design with endless levels but it’s actually not. I don’t think many will reach the end credits because the game gives off the wrong impression.

Now working on some minor placements of the texts and imgs for the tutorial.

Great! but the levels are kinda hard to understand at first but nice now

Developer

I'm working on a tutorial level

Probably gonna post it tomorrow. There are also a few comments similar to yours. I'm sorry I'm not really good at explaining mechanics hahaha

can be a bit hard to understand the mechanics but the whole concept and presentation are top-notch! I really enjoyed it :)

Developer(+1)

One of my problems also. When I make the mechanics, I have a hard time presenting it to people. In probs like these, what do u suggest I should do?

Submitted(+1)

maybe present a quick tutorial or a distinct visuals on how the black tiles work perhaps?

Developer

I’m gonna add some wasd, space, and mouse symbol somewhere in-game. If you dont mind, can you tell me what mechanic u didn’t understand clearly?

I really liked the concept here, although it took me a minute to realize I could move around on the board! That definitely made things easier. If you hadn't mentioned the limitation being in the lore, I might've missed it. Presentation was pretty great, especially with the cutscene/dialog. Overall nice work!

I actually thought of putting some tutorial. Then I realized others just put their controls in the description.

Tutorials are good, but only if they don't eat up too much of your jam time!
