Use of the limitation
The player has a sanity meter; The lower this sanity meter drops, the more chance the player will hallucinate. These hallucinations cause the player to flee in the opposite direction (against the user's will) despite the enemy not being real.

This shows a lot of promise. While clearly unfinished, this has the structure of something outside the scope of a short jam game.
A few things that need to be added (to the extent that these are obvious, forgive me, better safe than sorry):
1. More sound effects, and some music.
2. A better sprite for the player, depicting a character swimming (and pointing in at least 4 directions).
3. More hazards (scary fish?).
4. More features to explore (different types of resources? optional goals?).
Overall, very impressive for a first jam.
Thanks so much for your feedback!
Yeah I'm currently polishing the game, fixing bugs and adding nice visuals. I've already uploaded a lot of my progress on the game's devlog page.
More features and hazards is something I'll likely start working on in a couple weeks once I'm happy with how all the current systems function. I haven't built a solid plan for the game yet, though I am certainly enjoying its development.
Thanks for playing!
Wow! Amazing!
Thanks for playing!
This game have a really big potential. Keep it going mate.
Thanks so much!
Excellent work! I like the core concept of this and the upgrade system is awesome. Overall well done!
Thanks a lot!
Good work :) I got 4 stars here, a little bit of background music would make this alot better!
Yeah I'm focusing on polishing the game now (graphics, music, etc.), but I definitely need to plan for more time to make music and sound effects for my next jam haha
Thanks for playing!
Cool concept, I collected 4 stars :)
Congrats! Keep It Up
Thanks!
ABSOLUTELY FUN AND HORRIFYING GAME!
The concept is really well-designed, I was having a Subnautica and The Forest vibes while playing the game. The caverns are terrifying even without enemies/hazards!
I played the game while playing some cave bgm to ramp up my immersion and oh boy the tension just got amplified.
Overall, a very solid game! Looking forward on updates to this game in the future!
Thanks for playing!
I'll be adding my own music and ambience shortly so you won't have to play your own hahaha. Glad you enjoyed it, though! The whole game is currently being polished, systems are being finished/overhauled and art + music is being added. I'll be using the devlog feature on Itch shortly if you're interested in tracking progress.
I collected all 6 stars before the sanity could drop low enough for the hallucinations to appear.
I noticed this about 15 minutes before submitting but it was into early morning hours and I didn't have time to fix it. I've fixed this already on my machine but I don't believe I can just upload the changes during the rating period? If I can then please let me know hahaha
Thanks for playing!
Oh man, I was surprised how much you were able to creep me out with such simple visual elements. I think that means you spent time in the right places :)
Balancing the health/sanity/oxygen was a nice touch, and your stomach drops with dread a little when you dive further and the sanity leaks away. It's tuned nicely so you have just enough oxygen to reach the next cave.
What was the money in the top right for and how do I get more of it?
There is a store next to you in the room you spawn. I didn't give myself enough time to make much art for the game so it's just a white rectangle that says "Store" above it hahaha.
You get money by pressing "E" on the stones with gold nuggets in them in the caves. You can then go back to the store, press E on that too and a menu will pop up where you can buy upgrades.
Thanks for playing!
Oh cool! There's a lot more to this than meets the eye!
