Yes! We had a very talented artist on the team (SpaceScape), he did all the art and designed levels 2 and 3. He was working on a forth level with enemies but we unfortunately ran out of time.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for playing!
I loved it! The art and mechanics seem very polished. Others have commented on having alternate endings, and I would like that too, but the linear narrative in this game is still great for the time given to make it.
The flashlight wasn't too bad on my monitor, but I can see why others may think it's too dark. Great game with that aside!
Thanks so much for your feedback!
Yeah I'm currently polishing the game, fixing bugs and adding nice visuals. I've already uploaded a lot of my progress on the game's devlog page.
More features and hazards is something I'll likely start working on in a couple weeks once I'm happy with how all the current systems function. I haven't built a solid plan for the game yet, though I am certainly enjoying its development.
Thanks for playing!
I enjoyed it! At first I didn't realise that the floating things were the key cards, so for the first few minutes I walked around the walls of the map spamming grab lmao
On the first level, I grabbed the card and walked past the creature without realising it until I turned around. It didn't see me even though I was right next to it; I'm not sure if it was supposed to chase me or not. The second level was too laggy for me on the HTML5 version of the game so I couldn't get past it.
Good concept though!
Thanks for playing!
I'll be adding my own music and ambience shortly so you won't have to play your own hahaha. Glad you enjoyed it, though! The whole game is currently being polished, systems are being finished/overhauled and art + music is being added. I'll be using the devlog feature on Itch shortly if you're interested in tracking progress.
There is a store next to you in the room you spawn. I didn't give myself enough time to make much art for the game so it's just a white rectangle that says "Store" above it hahaha.
You get money by pressing "E" on the stones with gold nuggets in them in the caves. You can then go back to the store, press E on that too and a menu will pop up where you can buy upgrades.
Thanks for playing!
Yeah, or maybe simultaneous control is a mechanic added later in the game to bring another layer of difficulty. Similar to how Portal first allows you to fire 1 portal, then later allows you to control 2 when you're used to the mechanic.
I'm interested to see where this goes if you keep working on it! I'll keep my eye out. :)
Great concept, great art. The only gripes I have are the random difficulty spike (which someone has already commented on) and the controls. The controls issue may just be a me problem but sometimes I would move the wrong character and end up dying since my brain got the keys mixed up. I think this could be improved by adding a key to switch between the characters and control them individually rather than at the same time. I realise that this would make the puzzles where you move simultaneously unviable but I think it'd be a good trade for a better movement system. Just my opinion.
Loved it! Great game!
I love the concept! It's quite original and fits the limitation well.
The art put me off at first, but it was actually quite enjoyable!
The only gameplay gripe I had was that if the player was in the corner of the screen, it was awkward to turn it towards that corner, especially with the menu and restart buttons placed there. I would personally make the characters turn relative to the centre of the screen.
Apart from that, great job!
The concept is cool, but I do think more could be added to give it more replay value. The enemies never seemed to get any more difficult as the game progressed, and I found I didn't even have to use the time feature to beat any of them.
A polished game with a good concept and decent art; Well done! I like it. I would definitely add increasing difficulty and a variety of enemies, though.
