The ghost mechanic worked very well!

i liked the art too, but the controls where a little unresponsive… maybe controlling the character with the keyboard would be better.

Great game! my partner likes this game the most out of what she has played, she liked the tension the circle brought. I believe having some tense music as the circle gets close to you, would highly improve the overall feel of the game.

It did lag for me quiet a lot, and i ended up personally repeating it 6 times with only cutting maybe 1-3 trees each route. i believe reducing the amount of empty spaces by lets say 70% and replacing it with rock (cant cut through) would force me to use the axe and not just find a simple path.

But, all in all, great game!

nice game!  I like the concept  of running away from a growing terror while another one chases after the player,  the controls are good but sometimes I get stuck on the trees and a missed swings can lead to time lost. The graphics and sounds are great, it gives tension and depth to the experience,  it has good replay value, overall, I enjoyed playing this one! congratulations! keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback!! :)

interesting concept. im not sure if the graphics are meant to look so grainy, but it has something to it.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, haven't made too many WebGL builds so I think a lot of the shaders/ ppx didn't translate as well :(

Really unique concept! Getting upgrades and being able to shwack several trees in one swoop is pretty enjoyable, and I definitely like that the difficulty later on really depends on how the player performed earlier. Graphics/animations were solid. Wish it had music though! Nice work!

Much appreciated! Made the sounds effects but didn't know where to begin with making a soundtrack xD

A very addictive game, I really wanted to keep running from the circle instead of starting from the beginning, great job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback :), I should have been clearer inside the game's ui with instructions (goal is to keep running against your ghosts from previous runs),

The game is fun I do wish the lumberjack collider was a little better and didn't get locked in place. The ground kept splitting on my end idk what the issue is I have had similar problems with unity tiles maps if that's what you're using. I do wish if you were safe, you could keep playing and add a score feature to the game. The graphics were good and overall nice game idea and execution could just use a bit of polish.

Edit: After playing a few more rounds the collider worked better just had to get used to it and make sure to work around it was quite fun!

Thanks for the feedback! Looked into it and added a Physics material to the player with some bounciness to get him around those corners :)

The issue is basically I'm adding velocity directly to the mouse location in the world which wasn't helping with those sharp corners :/

Thanks again!

Extremely well-done graphics! However, it was frustrating how the lumberjack, when colliding with a wall, got stuck to it instead of sliding along it.

It ran slowly for me. My computer isn't that fast, so this may not matter much. Regardless, some instancing for all of those trees would be handy if you aren't already doing it.

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I added a physics material to the player with some bounciness, hope it feels a bit better now, much appreciated!

It really is a bit better, but I'm pretty sure setting the friction as opposed to increasing the bounciness would make it even better. I've forgotten how physics in Unity work, but this should be universal across all engines.

This really rules, I love the choices you made.

The gameplay is well tuned-- it nicely exceeds the premise of a maze game by letting you cut your way through. It still rewards you for navigating well, but allows for a faster circle expansion than would be feasible in a plain maze escape, leading to really frenzied and exciting gameplay.

The custom loading screen was a really nice touch, and very clean. Cool premise to boot.

Thanks! my goal was to make the game more exciting/ crazy the more runs you do!
