Interesting game! I included it in my Mini Jam 107 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
Hi 3th4nRL,
For 20 hours, I believe it was worth it haha. With more time and polish it could be a really fun game. Respawning at the beginning of the room would be great. Anyway, it was fun :)
This was quite an enjoyable game. I got a bit stuck in getting to the second room, because the alien shot me the moment I came in, so I had to use the running through the collider-less wall trick the others noted in the comments. Then the third room was again a challenge until I realised that I could shoot into the next room from the previous one.
For me, the most fun room was the last one, because there was a bit of interesting problem-solving to be had, flying up out of the door and shooting as you go past. The other rooms couldn't be solved that way because of the horizontality of them. Maybe placing aliens above the doors in those rooms could have made them both more doable and more interesting (or barriers to protect you?). I also think being able to see where the aliens before they can shoot you (like in the fourth room) leads to potentially more engagement of trying to figure out solutions.
Overall, I liked this game!
Thank you! Yeah, that wall glitch wasn't something I noticed till that comment pointed it out lol. Thanks for the feedback! Definitely taking some of your ideas, level creation is probably my weakest point when making games and I dedicate so little time to it.
This was pretty cool -very challenging -often character got hit as soon as entering through door -but had fun trying to get past them! The art was great too -nice work! :D
Thank you!
Super fun game with great artwork. I actually thought the controls were pretty smooth, but maybe that's because I spent the last 72 hours playing a gravity-control platformer, lol
The sprites and music were very endearing and worked well together and the physics was fun to play with. Did you like Boscaceoil? I haven't heard of it before
Thanks! Yeah, it was the same for me lol, I tested it a lot and didn't have too many issues because I knew what I was doing, whereas newer players didn't have that.
Boscaceoil is probably one of the best free music creation software's I've used, it's really simple to understand and use while still allowing for a lot to be done with it. Obviously, you may need practice with it or at least some knowledge of music creation beforehand to understand a little music theory, but it's really easy to get into and mess around with/learn.
Great Game, very fun, Every if aliens wanted to murder me so badly lol
Lmao, yeah definitely going back to make sure they don't attack straight away. Thank you!
This game is super charming! Loved the art.
Thank you! ^-^
Nice graphics but kind of hard to control :D . Also as many other said the first alien kills me instantly and i also managed to get into the second room by running through the wall which apparently does not have a collider. If the controls were better this could be a really good game!
Thanks a lot!
Like many other players, i also was hit by the aliens just after entering a room, but, as you said, once you know the controls and were they are it becomes easier.
I hate to admit that i had trouble getting out of the first room, because it was not obvious to me where the exit was after activating the switch.
Despite what you have written on the game’s page, i think it was well worth the effort you put into it.
Thanks, it means a lot! Yeah, for some reason when I uploaded the project the dimensions it shows aren't complete and you need to fullscreen the game to view the entire thing for some reason. Thanks for your feedback!
Yes, in fullscreen i can see the exits now. What an improvement! :D
As a solo project, you made it great! The thing I didn’t like was aliens instantly trying to kill you as you get into the next room. Tho, I did like the mechanic of being able to change gravity only for the player. Keep doing stuff! :)
I really wanted to finish this game but it really is hard lol. The art and animation in this game is really good and cohesive. The mixture of gameplay elements work really together as well. I feel it would have been better if the astronaut had more air movement control but overall this is a really solid game. Great job!
Yeah, I realized how hard I made it a bit late on and I definitely gotta go back to it and tweak some numbers, but thanks for giving it a go!
Nice game! I like the music and the art. But it's too short. Overall it's a good game.
Hey there,
Cute art style and love the song you put in the game! As a recommendation, I would try tweaking the numbers on movement speed in and out of 0 gravity. Also the aliens are OP haha they kill you faster than the player can move. Other than that, I could totally see a whole game around this anti-gravity suit wearing astronaut! If it was fleshed out with a story, and maybe a Metroid-Vania type gameplay where you unlock new abilities for your space suit and explore the depths of the space ship this would have great potential!
Great work!
Thanks so much! Yeah, the aliens are definitely OP lol, which is entirely my fault as I didn't have too much trouble when I was testing but in hindsight it's obvious that others would have some trouble. Definitely thinking of going back and adding more to it later on down the road and thanks for your feedback!
The alien immediately kills me, I don't know what to do >-<
Lmao, Yeah that's definitely my fault, when I was testing the game obviously I knew controls and how to get past, occurred to me a bit late that others would have trouble.
