Interesting toy. I included it in my Mini Jam 107 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Wow -- what an unexpectedly beautiful mechanic. The orbit/trajectory-making process is so engaging, but the game's overall tone is so reflective and wonderfully eerie, almost elegiac. Love the concept, love the execution! (The only note I could possibly have would be that I was greedy for more textural variation in the music; if you ever did a version of this that included multiple instrument samples, and really builds a fleshed out soundscape from the orbiting planets, I'd be first in line to play.) Amazing job, and thanks for posting!

This is the only game I've rated 5/5 in each section so far. I hope you turn it into a complete game and give it a proper release soon. Good luck!

Developer

Thank you very much! ^_^

Hello Perlta Soft,

It was a relaxing and fun experience. A great idea that fits perfectly with the theme and limitation. Even I managed to make music with your game haha!

Awesome!

Hello Team Badcat,

I am glad that you enjoyed the experience! ^_^

Thank you for playing.

Very nice! I love the idea of the notes being in the middle and the planets passing them. It was a little buggy, but for only one weekend, great job!

Developer (1 edit)

I would be happy if it was only “a little buggy” :D

Thank you for playing!

Woah, this is definitely the most unique and creative use of limitation we've seen.

The implementation is genuinely impressive and, aesthetically, it's a BEAUTIFUL play. The predictive trails are a really lovely touch.

One thing I would love to see if you really make this into a full game is locking onto stable orbits while aiming. I found it tricky to get it just right and actually build up loops of sound (but I eventually got it and it was AWESOME!)

Overall, this is such a special and well done project.

Developer

Yes, looping, that should be one of the core actions, is the most difficult for me too.

Thank you for playing, and for your nice comments!

Really a different concept, and you managed to integrate the theme with the limitation very well

Developer

Thank you!

Very different from all the other submissions! Very relaxing and just a very interesting idea!

Brilliant idea for the limitation! however, I am not a big fan of the simulator genre, I do genuinely enjoy playing your submission, very creative project, and this idea could easily be developed into something great, definitely keep up with this project! =)

Developer(+1)

I would need to study a bit more music theory to fully develop this, i am afraid.

Thank you for playing, and for your comment!

The third game I've played with controlling gravity with planets but the implementation was different on each one which is cool. This is a nice idea, although I felt it could have done with a backing ambience that complements the notes (potentially all in the correct key).

Developer

You are right, the ambience is severely lacking, specially compared to your entry!

Thanks for playing, and for the feedback!

Perfect use of the limitation and unique concept. The first thought I had while playing the game was "I don't know how to reproduce this game".

Developer

Thank you for your comment. I have no doubt you could reproduce it if you tried!

As a musician, I quite enjoyed the relaxing experience. The simple and minimalist approach perfectly suits the theme and limitation and I'm happy someone did a game like that as it was one of the ideas I thought I could  make but didn't. Great execution and use of  planet gravity rather than plain "vertical" gravity too.

Developer(+1)

Oh, i would like to see how a musician would have approached it. I, unfortunately, have very limited musical experience.

Thank you very much for playing.

Submitted

you're welcome! I would have used what is called a pentatonic major scale  (in C: C D E G A) and assigned these notes to several planets for instance. No matter how random you go, the result will sound pleasing and musical.

Submitted(+1)

What a cool way to mix gravity and music!  Very chill experience and very well done! :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

Really liked this; has a very zen garden feel to it. I could not for the life of me get good orbits going with more than one sun, but I had a good time trying!

I couldn't find a way of moving around while zoomed in, which meant I could only do fine tuning in the middle of the line; having some extra functionality there would have been nice.

Developer (1 edit)

I believe the only times i successfully managed to have stable orbits with two suns was by mere luck :)

I wish i could have added panning too, but i ran out of time. Time: the bane of all jam’s participants!

Thank you for playing and for your comment.

Excellent use of the limitation and great, if familiar, concept. Very minimalist presentation, it would be neat to choose different voices/instruments or even add multiple of those 'lines' for the planets to cross. I like it!

Developer

Yes, i wanted to give a different instrument to each color, but ran out of time. Thank you for playing!

Great presentation of the theme and limitation. It was quite fun to create music this way.

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Very relaxing, from the point of view of the prototype is very good.

Developer

Thank you!

This is pretty cool. Even though I was barely able to sustain an orbit, I was still entertained. This is a great simulation and a great game.

Developer(+1)

Oh, i also struggle to create a stable orbit, even with the hints! Thank you for playing!
