Use of the limitation
The limitation is 10 seconds, so I made the dog ask for a different type of food every ten seconds.

Changed my life. Very cute, I spent eight hours feeding that dang dog, and he still was hungry! Going to get back to that now!!

Ah, then a timer would help communicating that :) Make it a bar at the top that gets smaller in percentage, so your students can learn how to make a health bar in the future.
