Your writing prowess astounds me. Great game!
Thanks so much! 😊
Fireball is Op
Someone gets me 😏
really fun mechanic, although i think you had a to big off a scope for the game jam. I can see your priorities where the art, what really looks cool
Hey, thank you! It was our first Jam and we had too many ideas too little time to implement, we thought to do so much more. 🥲
Amazing presentation... sprites, sounds, music, atmosphere. Having to open the spellbook and type the spell is an interesting mechanic - I think it would be something useful as a learning by playing a game tool for kids learning how to spell and type.
We hadn't thought about that and I believe it's a fantastic idea! Maybe adopting the idea to control elements by it names and then teaching how to spell it. 😯
Would be nice if there were more spells I think.
We thought about having more spells but we hadn't have the time.
We thought about:
- fire spell (like we added)
- frost spell
- light spell
- thunder spell
- companion spell (like a spectral weapon)
We planned to have specific scenarios for each too
Cool game concept! It really felt like I was going on an adventure! One thing is that enemies don't deal damage, this made me not cast the spell as it was quite repetitive. Perhaps adding a key bind instead to cast the spell would be nice. The soundtrack and sound effects are great too! Nice job 😀
That's a great suggestion! At first we were inspired by Tibia to use typing for casting spells... But yeah, in some time it turned quite repetitive... We let our Wizard be immortal as part of the OP limitation but because we hadn't much time to control HP 😅
Thanks so much!
