A nice 2d platformer, great job! I agree that the controls are a tad too fast, but it's still solid anyways :)

Check out my game if you have the chance. Thanks!

Descent 2D platformer. I personally felt like the character moved too fast, but maybe that was intentional.

Developer

Her controls probably needed adjustments hahaha

Thank you!

Really good, good laugh at the diallogue at the start, and noticed you included grace time for the jumps, which is real nice.

I agree to other comments that said it felt slippery. Some tips from someone who spent hours trying to do a "perfect" platformer and gave up:

  • If you're using acceleration/decceleration, maybe try to have acc>decc, or lower acc. Or ir you aren't, the character is too fast for small platforms (I know I fell severall times from the one at the end of the tunnel)
  • Try to have higher gravity when falling. this helps with accuracy to hit the platforms. There's a surprising amount of videos on jump mechanics and tricks on YT

It's ofc understandable that can't have it all in a Jam, so nicely done :)

Developer

Yo, fascinating..! Thank you much for the insights! I'm very new to platformer dev, so I defo needed this guidance haha

I guess I'll have to learn from this. May update the game, may make another platformer, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thank you again, this really does matter.

We really appreciated the experience! The platforming has something annoying to us, but entertaining overall! The base idea is quite similar to our entry so we dig the concept at all! Nice touch with the final comments!

Developer(+1)

Thanks!!!!!

If only the final comments were more whole haha, I reckon this could be something real cool

I'll hafta check your own game soon enough, then..!

Your art is nice, and the sound too. However, you should adjust the player movement because it's very fast and complicated to manage. But overall, it's amazing. Good job, congratulations!

I will appreciate your comment and punctuation according to your experience with my work. Greetings, and thanks for your support!

Developer(+1)

Why, thanks! Yeah, controls need polishing haha.

I hope to play all of the games, 'cluding yours! :)

A fun little platformer, it feels a bit slippery but I'm not sure if that was intentional. It would've been nice to have a bit more feedback on what you missed at the end as I almost called it a day without even seeing most of the game.

Developer(+1)

Spot on. A bit too slippery in my taste, too, and the end screen is way too rushed.

It's probably because it was 3:30 AM that I rushed it though, hah

Thank you!

out of pocket story lmao. really fun game

Developer

Hahaha, thanks!

Wish I did a bit more, sprinkle more dialogue here and there. But eh.

Maybe later ;p

I had a lot of fun finding all the hidden areas! Nice work, and nice polish. My only critique is the controls feel overly sensitive at points, but I was still able to make it to every platform.

Developer

Glad to hear the game breathes! Was nervous about bugs suddenly existing.

The controls really are a bit difficult and sensitive, huh? I guess I got used to it after deving for a few days haha. I'll hafta learn from this, once more.

Thank you and thank you!!
