thanks for checking out Cloud Control and for taking the time to comment. I’ve had a few similar comment, so I’m working on how to indicate the range. I use Unity’s CircleOverlapAll to check for demons to damage, but it doesn’t see to share the same units as say a sprite knob, so I’m a bit stumped.
Snappy and fun, although the collisions or range of the lightning could be better indicated. The character has a lot of charm! I love the way it blinks and moves its eyes.
enjoyed flying around as a cloud and like the art-style (esp. the eyes of the cloud are so cute!) of your game!
but once the cloud started to rotate after hitting a devil while having the red "shield" i had troubles controlling it. so i ended up just pressing space when devils were near. as i always had the red "shield" active they were no problem at all. maybe this is something you could tweak in the future :)
Yeah the rotation is a bug, I think I've fixed it now, and will be updating once I've crushed a couple of other bugs and added a couple of missing things (audio and an end sequence). Thank you so much for your feedback!
Heyo im doing video playthroughs / giving my thoughts, so here yee go
Wow, I genuinely cannot believe how long you spent with this game, thank you so much! A lot of the points you make are simply related to running out of time, eg no audio, bugs etc. Probably a stupid idea to do my first ever jam over the Xmas period XD.
I actually learned a lot through watching.
Definitely needed more playtesting! I accepted a couple of bugs so I could make the game feel a bit more complete, and I think that was the right decision.
I have a couple of other games on games.4godsache.co.uk, including one I'd eventually like to sell when it's complete (Quad Pong - like pong but completely insane and not relaxing at all). If you ever get any time, I'd love to hear your comments on them.
haha no problem, watching someone play your game will usually reveal alot more than a comment. Really good work for a first game jam! I am going to be doing videos on other jam entries before I do anything else, but I will absolutely keep your other games in mind!
Simple and fun game. I love the design of the demons and the eye animations on the cloud are super cute. Good job!
I had a fun little bug where the small demons never spawned and the larger ones couldn't kill me so I was infinitely falling while being followed by hundreds of demons! It was really funny to watch my cloud tumble about while being surrounded.
yeah, I’m aware of a couple of bugs with the demons. Just working on the fix. Thanks for playing and your comments!
Great game! I did have a minor bug where after hitting a demon I could control the rotation of my cloud and my score wouldn't increase yet I didn't die, but that's fine (I believe I got that because I swiped to turn off the tutorial and my arrow keys were still locked to that slider, but I don't know for sure). I also think that you could have some form of checkpoints/story elements to make the game a bit more interesting. Other than that, it was pretty enjoyable and a very creative use of the limitation! Nice job!
yeah, there’s that bug, didn’t get time to add music or do the ending. I’m fixing it all this week. Thanks for your comments
Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.
I have never played as a cloud before so this was definitely a first. Very nice creative use of the limitation. Playing in the sky and blasting through demons hit the heaven theme as well. Very cute graphics especially the cloud with eyes.
thank you!
I like the graphics! The game could use a little bit more to do in terms of goals, though.
Thanks - I agree that it needs a little more variety, but I struggled with ideas and time. First game jam, so I’m happy with the result.
