Awesome game! Such a great twist on a simple game. Having the Earth move faster in certain areas of the court is brilliant, made for much more interesting gameplay than basic pong! Loved the art too :)

Neat little twist on  a classic pong style paddle game. I like that the previous goal scored has a visual effect on the play field. It might have been cool if it actually affected the scoring area as well (ie: can only score in your zone, or get double points if you score in the smaller zone, etc). Game plays solid and no real bugs, although I did notice occasionally the ball (earth!) would suddenly speed up in the middle of going across the play area which led to some upsetting misses. This may be related to playing it in the browser though, so I'm not sure. If its in the packaged download version though you definitely try to iron that out :)

I really like the way you played with the theme! That was clever.

You reinvented pong, but in such a way I didn't even realizeit was a pong game. More parameters, games mechanics and this nice pixel art make this game pretty awesome to play.

As mentionned, the next step would be to have a AI to play against :)

Developer

hello!
we kept on working on the game and released an all-new version including single-player against AI :)

you can check it out here: https://pixel-sprouts.itch.io/heavenvshelltennis

thx for your feedback!

Fun times, I liked the twist that the speed change made on the traditional pong mechanic :)

Interesting to play :)

For your first game, this was pretty interesting and not bad. The art was nice, the music was pretty good,  and the gameplay was pretty nice even though I was playing by myself XD. I even noticed you were using BeepBox because I remembered making a song using that DAW.  Overall though, nice job on the game!

Playing in multiplayer was fun and I like how the level change depending on who is winning!

Nice! I didnt think it was a multiplayer game at the start, but it turned out nice, when i understood. I like how the music changes when the ball passes the line to different versions of  the same tune,  and the sprite changes, maybe the speed needed to stay the same, but overall really nice! Il maybe try it out with my sister.

Developer

Thanks for the nice comment! We wanted to have some difference in gameplay when the ball is above the "enemy" field but we are also aware that the speed change doesn't feel so great if players don't know what's going on. We may fix it in the future if we can come up with a better idea. :)

I really liked the split screen concept affecting both the ball movement and the music. Nice unique touch to a classic game concept.

I really like it, you should add a cpu opponent though as its hard to play by your self

Developer

As mentioned below we may implement this in a future version. Thanks for the nice feedback!

you can now play the game in an all-new version of the game against an AI here: https://pixel-sprouts.itch.io/heavenvshelltennis :)

I like the dynamic music! The gameplay is simple, but it works. A CPU opponent might ne nice next time.

Developer

Implementing a simple AI is definitely something we want to learn for a possible future game or maybe even an update on this one. Thanks!
