I would have liked to see some more fames for the characters so that I'd get a better vibe for movement. The way the controls for abilities were implemented was a bit odd, and could use fine tuning. Left shift is strange and probably will hit the sticky-keys problem. Maybe use space? Good work.
Thanks for trying out the game! I do agree that key selection could have been a bit better, thats why we had remappable controls, though it wasnt mentioned that well.
First of all, a message for the community: HEY EVERYONE! Download this game and play it! You won't regret it.
Now with the feedback: This is one of my favourite entries so far. So much polish, mechanics and levels for the timespan of this jam. Congrats to everyone on the team! I liked the save on every level, and it was a pleasant surprise to see that my game was saved after I had to quit during the first run.
The sprites from the first levels gave me nostalgia for the DOS games I used to play as a kid. Once it gets to the sidescrolling levels, the camera movement and level design feels really good. The puzzles were clear and challenging. While playing I thought that maybe there could be a mode with less batteries for added difficulty, but it was nice to see a reward for saving batteries throughout the game at the end (here's a picture of my score haha). I had a lot of fun trying to reach the end of each level.
The only criticism I can think of are two things: I find the "shift" key to be a little far away from "1,2,3" to cycle through the powers and quickly fire, but I don't know if that was intentional for the difficulty. And the other thing would be a recommendation to add a web version too, so it's easier for people to play the game. Although that would take the "continue" away, but at least it would give them a chance to quickly try out the game before downloading. I hope more people get to play this game, 'cause it's a hidden gem in my opinion. Good job again, 5/5 for enjoyment for sure!
Thanks a lot for taking your time playing the game and giving feedback, we are glad you enjoyed it:)
I find it cool you were able to implement a lot of weapons and level design given the time span. Really nice.
Thank you very much :)
