Use of the limitation
For this jam limitation, we chose the 4 color palette "Nymph GB Palette" by Kerrie Lake, with the addition of white for 5 colors. With this palette we tried to go for a "GB feel", so we also used the GB aspect ratio. The 5 colors limit was a little difficult but fun.

Short and sweet game :) I would have loved some kind of checkpoint system though! Loved the art for the generators.
Neat little platformer! It was nice and simple, and very easy to understand. The graphics looked fitting too - although there was some flickering here and there. The gameplay was fun and fast paced as well, although restarting the player at the very beginning felt a bit unfair. Still, it was a fun little game, good job!
Cool looking game, I would have liked to complete it in full, but I wasn't able to beat the first boss :( I think it would benefit from a checkpoint system. Keep up the good work!
Super cute game. I do love platformers and was super enjoyable. I really liked the Art and the music was really fitting. I would turn down the movement speed or implement some form of coyote time. Otherwise this was a really solid enjoyable submission. Please keep up the great work :) You have gained a follow from me :)
I really liked the concept of switching things on and shooting bad guys with a laser beam. Unfortunately the game was slightly let down by the somewhat hard to control character, the inconsistent controls and the low quality SFX.
cool game. Sometimes when i try to activate the terminals seems it's not detecting my input
The colors remind me a lot to game boy games
Good job!
This was a lovely little dose of platforming! A decent challenge and nice art and sound too, good job.
The game is a solid platformer, gameplay is pretty fun, music is really good, and graphics too, aside from the occational flickering lines was pretty nice. Keep up the great work!
Love the game, had a lot of fun playing it. I get a very GameBoyish feeling from it and I love it! However some sprites did flicker a little and when playing in fullscreen the UI seemed to take alot of the space and enemies would fall on my head without me being able to see them. Great job nonetheless!
nice job! to be fair, i dont have anything else to add :P i think the other comments say it all: cute sprites, pretty tiles, nice use of colors(though i feel like you might've used more than 5 colors), needs checkpoints, a little bit fast and the jump felt unresponsive at the rotating platforms part. overall good work!
Great game (and Reaper for the win!). I was hoping for checkpoints, but that's mainly because I'm bad lol. The gb palette was a really nice choice. Some unsolicited advice - I assume the flickering lines were not intentional: you can fix that by adding padding to your sprite sheets, either in Asperate or in a Unity sprite atlas.
The music reminded me of an old GBA game, The River King. It brought back some nostalgia, even if the two games are nothing alike. The only two things I would change are the movement speed, which is a little fast for my taste, and the AI doesn't always do what I expect it to, especially those jumpy jerks! The art is fantastic, the music is awesome, and the general concept makes for a neat puzzle platformer. It took me a few tries but I beat it in the end. Overall, I had fun!
The palette and art are great to look at, and I like that there was a variety of enemies throughout the level. The movement speed was a little fast for me, but the controls overall felt tight and responsive. Good work, I especially liked the touch where the button to turn on the terminal appeared above it
Hello, glad you enjoyed the game! The palette is the awesome work of Kerrie Lake on Lospec, make sure to check her page out https://lospec.com/palette-list/nymph-gb . Yes the variety of enemies was something that we wanted from the start, we didn't get to make another level where you encounter all of them in the same room, will probably add it when we update it. The movement does need some more tuning and we'll work on that! Nice that you still find the controls responsive enough. We're really happy on how the button of the terminals turned out, it's probably gonna be bigger in the update since it's not so easy to read for everyone. Thank you again for playing the game and taking the time to comment!
Good game, art, idea and music are good. I think the character moves very fast and some save point would be fine, but if you are looking for a greater difficulty it is fine without a save point.
Fun game! I really enjoyed the way the levels lit up once you activated the consoles. Using the doors as platforms once they were open was also a really cool idea! Great job!
Hello! Thanks for taking the time to play our game, and glad you enjoyed it! Yes, the lit up of the rooms was a great addition by AncariaNova, to drive home the fact that you're restoring the ship's power as the little bot. And the use of door as platforms was a fun little accident while making the prototype, so we included it in the gameplay haha. (btw our ship really has some over the top security measures too, maybe Flavio would like to work there if he's being held down by those pesky humans at the sub!) Thank you for the feedback!
It's not a bug it's a feature right haha? And I'm sure we could work out some sort of exchange program to get Flavio on over!
Wonderful game! I really like the palette and art. The animations also look especially nice. The enemy that jumps into the air is so troll lol
Controls feel a bit clunky, but that is to be expected from a game jam, wonderful job!
Unrelated note: Our game entries have similar names :)
Thanks for playing our game and give us feedback fellow bot friend haha.
We will try to fix the controls in an upcoming update, to be more responsive and execution.
Your game is fantastic, already leave our feedback there ;)
Lovely GB aesthetic, I really like the setting, the music and sound effects. I think the movement speed is a tad fast and the jump is a tad short, otherwise a solid entry!
Thanks for the feedback and play our game!
Yes, when we look up for the limitation the first time, we thought "We need to do a GB style game!" haha.
The music and sfx was part of the awesome work of MartinLagman, my teammate. It's great that you like it!
Unfortunately in this jam and our first one, we learn that leave time for playtesting is needed, so we maybe miss some of the things you talk about, like the Player Bot moving a little to fast o the jump not having the correct amount of high to reach certain part of the level, that you may be thought was possible before.
So yes, he hope to improve this and a lot more in an upcoming update haha.
As mentioned before, your game is great also. So congrat for finishing the Jam!
Clever platform puzzler! Getting into the rhythm was very enjoyable. Also, good color scheme.
The controls never quite felt accurate enough, unfortunately. It was sometimes hard to find the exact position from which to activate a switch, especially when there were enemies nearby making me nervous. :)
Thanks for play our game and take the time to give us your opinion.
He hope to bring more sections and challenges in the future to improve the game.
What you talk about the terminal activation dont felling accurate it's right, but we couldn't figure out the problem at the time and test for solutions. But in a next update we will try to fix so don't feel unresponsive and unfair when a swarm of aliens its around you haha.
We really enjoy The Derelict Orpheus, and we are amazed of how much you achieve for this Jam.
Great job! Love the vibe, and the music. My only criticism is a lack of save points, otherwise fantastic entry!
Thanks josefnpat for your feedback and take your time to play our game.
It's great that you enjoy our game and we take your feedback about the lack of save point to fix that in an upcoming update.
We play Yoko Redux and we love the aesthetic and use of the limitation. We leave you our feedback there.
This was really cool, it had a lot of polish. Some check points would go a long way. There's also a lot of tile tearing going on, If you need any help fixing that send me a private message!
Hi Brick Wall Games,
Thanks for playing our little game and take the time to give us feedback.
We agree about the implementation of a checkpoint system that let you try faster a section you end up losing, and not needing to go through all the previous parts again. We will try to implement that in a next update.
And yes, that tearing problem was something we also hate but at the moment didn't have the answer to fix it. Again we hope to fix it in a next update.
We also check Split in Three, and we love the puzzle mechanics. We rated the game and leave you our feedback there.
