Really great art and music and the concept is pretty neat too, well done !

Very cool, pretty impressive to get all of these mechanics in within the allotted time. I did find it pretty difficult though.

It was really fun!

thank you! glad you liked it!

Really cool game! Radiation jumping around the 3rd level mark felt good, I was always doutbting if I would reach the next pill before dying, and the invulnerability felt powerful enough to be desirable at times at the cost of losing health.

Developer

I'm really glad that came through, I spent a non insignificant amount of jam time trying to get that feel (Okienoki playtested it repeatedly and died) and were worried it wasn't going to be obvious!

unfortunately with the web player every time i hit space the screen would jump down and it wouldn't trigger the events like the doors. great music and art though!

Developer

Thanks! Okienoki is a pretty great artist and musician :D
I think if you click the window then spacebar shouldn't scroll the page but I guess that doesn't always work.

Great gameplay mechanic, it was fun to see my character move faster/jump higher as I was frantically looking for the way out :D

Only minor downside is finding yourself stuck somewhere and having to wait for a bit. Other than that fun game and aesthetically pleasing art!

Developer

We definitely made a note to think about level design and balancing of the radiation increase/decrease if we decide to update it so the flow would be nicer and you wouldn't have to wait around too much with nothing to do.

Thanks for playing!

I loved the concept here - having to balance your health with your powers was a really nice idea! It could've worked better in some places, since I got stuck waiting at one point to get the jump power, and I think it was a little too easy to just stay in the invulnerability mode at all times, but it was a really neat idea, good job! The gameplay itself was fairly simple too, although the movement did feel a little too fast and imprecise at times, so that could've been better. It was also kind of confusing to try and navigate through the level, though I found my way through eventually by just running around a lot. I also liked the NPC dialogue - that helped to add some personality to the game.

Art-style wise, it was very solid - everything looked nice and clear, and the game was visually consistent through, which is always a plus. The character editor was an interesting addition - shame that it was irrelevant after you got the radsuit, but it was a nice touch nonetheless! I enjoyed the music loop as well, but some sound effects would've really helped make the game that bit more engaging, since it felt a little empty without them.

All in all, it was an enjoyable little platformer game with a great idea behind it - great work on it!
