Just me :P

Software used
Unity, Aseprite, paint.net, sfxr

Use of the limitation
every sprite and texture is max. 8x8, I used a sprite for the head and one for the body when creating characters, including the main one. The rest is all done with materials and single colors, most objects don't have textures.

Cookies eaten
2 reeeeally big ones made with wine, they were a bit soft but really good

i really enjoyed the wave riding, thought the art was amazing. I feel like this is a great tech demo that can be incorporated into an amazing future project! I look forward to seeing more

Very cool, just wish I had some actual goal here

You've made a very good game. I really liked the visual style. The graphics are just gorgeous. The color palette is pleasing to the eye and blends well. Music in the theme of the game. I really liked your game. You have great potential. Good luck making games!

I'm not crying. I'm not.

This is a well made to play as it is visually striking, paired with great music to just vibe out to.

Although already great as a relaxing escape into the unknown, it would benefit as a game to have some difficulty curve by increasing the rate obstacles spawn in over time, and some performance feedback by having the player's current score integrated into the UI.

This game is also a great candidate for 'Zen' mode; no obstacles, no score, just tunes and dunes.

Beautiful game. Well done, and good luck! :D

Developer

thanks! I'm already adding a difficulty increase, gonna post it after the voting period is over, along with some more improvements to performance and stability :D you're the second person to suggest an in game UI to show the score, so I'll add it as well but I'm going to try and blend it with the world to not clutter the screen too much. Thanks for playing!

Oooh, I really like this! The mixture of pixel art and low poly 3d graphics is really nice, and the movement feels smooth! I feel like with a bit more polish and maybe some few more level variations this would make for a really good mobile game (:

bro good job as always, this one got me stuck and I've really enjoyed the gameplay and the graphics!

Awesome game. The visuals are really cool. The gameplay is simple but fun.

Wish it was exported to MacOS / Web. That sunset/rise looks cool! :)

Developer

I exported it to WebGL but it messed up all my shaders so it looked terrible :(

Submitted(+1)

Ahh okay, makes sense. That is a rabbit hole.

This was really fun! I love his tail animation, haha!

I wonder if adding a way to turn more sharply would add something- maybe after you pick up food? Just to put you on-course for the next pickup, if you're quick.

Great job! It looks and sounds just terrific!

the Sharper movements will be added post jam! I have the code ready, but I'll wait till the end of the jam to upload it

Visuals are just amazing, love it! I was missing some score on gameplay (to motivate myself). Also, gotta say those shaders arent using 8x8 textures (but it was worth it, that aesthetics <3)

Developer

hi, the shaders are actually not using textures at all! It's a Toon effect generated from the lights :) I wanted to keep the UI in game as free as possible, so I removed it from the in game screen, but I can add it back if enough people prefer

The visuals really catch the eye. I don't know how you did it but the desert really seems amazing.

Developer

mesh generation + Perlin noise offset with time + mesh collider generation :) it looks really cool but it's really easy, brackeys has a tutorial on the generation

Just wanted to share some thoughts. Very fun to play, great sprites and the sun (or whatever it was) in the background was really nice to just look at haha. Was just wondering if there was any sort of increase in difficulty as the score increased? Fell like that would add a lot to the game as right now, it feels to easy to just go on forever and never die. Great job though :)

Developer

difficulty is the bane of my existence! I wanted to make it challenging, but not too hard, my friends told me the difficulty was fine but I'm already working on an increase in obstacles and speed for longer runs. Glad you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Yeah difficulty is always tough to get right, you just don't know what the skill level of the people playing your game. It's not like it was crazy easy or anything though, just a little too easy in my opinion, may have been perfect for some others.

I really loved the visuals!
