How was your experience with Mini Jam?
This is my third time participating in this mini jam series, and each of these have very interesting and unique themes as well as limitations. This is a very good way to demonstrate that limitation indeed breeds creativity! Also I wanted to try a web based game, so I learnt p5.js while doing this jam and made my game using it. So these jams give a chance to everyone to increase their skill set and this is a very good thing about game jams, specially this mini jam series, because they are being constantly hosted, thus allowing people to participate soon in the next one in case they missed out on the previous one, instead of waiting weeks/months for another jam :D

Good game with nice mechanics! Keep it up!

And also, I used to be a web developer so I can say that making a game with only Javascript and Html is not easy. Good job!

Thank You!!!

This was great, the mechanic was a great use of the limitation, although I did find just trying to get as high as possible then double jumping felt like an optimal strategy most of the time. I think the additional hazards you've mentioned in other comments sound great, they'd add another layer of strategy that would encourage a more considered approach, but still very much enjoyed myself with this.

Also really like the tension from the time limit - didn't notice the darkness approaching at first, but panicked once I did!

Thank You for the feedback :)

Yeah, often getting as high as possible and double jumping seems the optimal strategy, but if the time restrictions were even more you might have discovered other strategies, mainly the horizontal platform shift. Also horizontally you can go offscreen in one direction and come back at the other end [provided at least 1 platform is selected] thus allowing only about a 2-move solution to some puzzles.

Glad that you enjoyed the game!

Thanks! Glad you liked the mechanics :)

And as for the confusion part, I tried to explain as much as possible using the instructions, but I think I should have given a tutorial for it explaining the instructions while allowing the player to play, but I did not get much time for that. Do you have any other idea for a better explanation of the game mechanics now that you have played it? Would love to know your opinions on this :)

Really like the your mechanic in this. Really nice to see you learned and make this in a program, you've not used before over the course of a Jam as well. Would be cool to see some additional hazards the player has to dodge compared to just the darkness.
Level 5 had me panicking with the speed you made the darkness approach with.

Thank You! Yes learning a new thing is what I am thankful to this jam for, because we keep thinking we will do this, and that, but do not end up doing it often, so in such cases an extra stress factor like this game jam is often helpful in learning a new skill XD

About the additional hazards, yes I did think about that, but due to time restrictions, I decided to not implement them. I was thinking of adding static platforms and stuff, or maybe add even more stuff, like making an extra light source, which will act like a magnet since Dicey does not like dark but loves light lol.

As for level 5 yeah it was a bit difficult, should probably have made the darkness speed a bit slower, thanks for playing, and thank you for your review!
