How is your game related to the Theme and Special Object?
It has a tomato as the charter and you have to avoid the homework that is graded as an F

Cool idea! I don't think I would have though of homework and getting an F.

Pro's

  • Awesome concept
  • I loved the shield drops, they really helped me because that homework was very speedy
  • I love these types of games where you have to avoid and shoot enemies

Some things I would have liked to see

  • Some audio, its surprising how much sound effects can add to the game
  • I was able to escape the map, so maybe some boundary that would prevent me leaving
  • A wave system, enemies start of slow and then they increase in difficulty

Keep creating games! I cant wait to see future games that you create :)

Very nice idea.

I would have liked it if the character instead of just having lives had an A rating and by getting bad ratings his score would drop and by getting to F he would lose.

I would also have had the tomato shoot something more inherent to the theme, for example the player's current grade, so if he has an A he shoots a sprite with an A drawn on it and goes against an F for example, averaging it out mathematically.

How you chose to fitted the theme is pretty funny.

First there isn't point to the game right now so I would recommend adding some score/timer that you need to achieve or just make it infinite to see how far can you go with some number (human are built to like big number).

Second the core mechanic of the game is pretty good except maybe there isn't enough variety on the game like more enemy or upgrades. I also don't like how you need to click fast to shoot fast ( like if you have glorious model o with double click vs viper mini pro that cannot do any high cps clicks.)

Third the game isnt very polish like health UI is quite hard to see, there no effects at all like dying paper particle, no restart button, no sound effects and music and no main menu.

Fourth a bug possibly : sometime paper spawn on top of you which is crazy since there literally no way to dodge it. Or you could say there a spawn point which you should avoid but I think that just bad design.

Fifth Look like you're new to game jam so congrats on your 2nd game jam!!

That is some powerful homework! I liked how the tables didn't make it too easy to kite around the map. It would play a bit smoother if the player could loop around the map like in Astroids.
