Fun game, it has strong Untitled Goose Game vibes, which I really liked. The only thing I didn't like is that it was very hard to escape the farmer once you get hit, some extra invincibility time would be good for that.

Also, I think those lag spikes in the web version might be caused by shader compilation for the particles, I had a similar issue with one of my games.

Untitled Goose Game was the direct inspiration for this! Along with an ancient loony toons cartoon that I've forgotten the name of (not any of the well known ones, there was a one-off cartoon about a mole).

Figuring out the invincibility timing was rather difficult for me, since if it's much longer it could easily be abused. Currently its purpose is to make sure the player wouldn't get combo'd by several farmers at once. Were you trying to run from the farmer? I've noticed some people will just instinctively try to run (since that's how most games work, I probably should have factored that into the tutorial), however immediately burrowing is generally safer. If you were burrowing to get away and still having issues then this might be a larger problem. Thanks for pointing it out.

I've encountered the shader compilation issue before. In previous games I've either been able to create a cache myself, or just fire every particle at the start of the game somewhere off screen. For some reason, neither worked here.

I had lots of fun with this game! :) Really enjoyed the twist of getting to menace the farm instead of cultivating it. Animation-wise, the 'explosion' made after destroying crops, and the trail you leave when you're underground is very entertaining to watch.

That was actually pretty fun, i enjoyed it alot!

The twist of being a mole and having to harass the farmers out of their fields is a really nice spin on the generic farming theme and quite enjoyable as well, because you can be an annoying little turd without causing any harm.

On normal I got stuck on Level 2, but it seemed like a know “issues” from devside.

Graphically it could use a litte more touch up, but after that I think this is a nice point to start a non-jam version to be published.

Music is too loud, be careful with that next time. Otherwise really cool entry! Well done!

I love this game!! The mechanics are so unique and fun. And I really love the art and music. It’s also really well polished, like it even has different difficulty settings (I found even “easy” to be a bit tricky though, maybe the amount of farmers could be decreaed on easy? Or their speed?). But great fun, good job! I feel it would be cool as a Switch game or something.

Great to hear that you found it fun!

Thanks for pointing out the issue with the difficulty setting. It was a super last minute addition, since I added healing items and improved the farmer AI on the 30th, then realized I didn't have time to properly test the changes, so I just threw in a difficulty setting hoping that would solve any issues. I had an idea to change the easy setting so farmers wouldn't hear the mole eating their crops, but I came up with that idea minutes before the jam ended and didn't have time to implement it.

Hi LowQualityRobin,

I'm happy that I tried your game. I had much fun.

I liked that you introduced new mechanics in each level. This is a good way to lead the player without overwhelming him/her. I think the puzzles are innovative.

I also had no problems with the browser version. It runs fine.

The only suggestion I could give you is to make the worlds smaller. Especially in the last level it felt quite long to go from the key to the door.

But other than that. Good game. Very solid. And 3D is a challenge in itself. Good work!

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you had fun with it!

Also thanks for pointing out that the levels were too long. I was able to finish the first four rather fast while testing (which makes sense since I made them), but I didn't really have a way to gauge how long the levels would take for someone doing a blind play through. This was my first time actually designing levels for a game, so the feedback is really valuable.
