It took me a while how should I catch different types of bugs, and the very fast movement of both my character and bugs did not help. In the end, I had a lot of bugs of the same type and I had no idea how to combine different bugs other than these worms (which I had caught a little too much) - was there any option to scroll? Also, rather than "infodump" at the begining, I'd rather see an example of how to catch my first bug (even a photo/short cutscene would suffice). I like the calming vibe of the game, so that's a plus.

That "infodump" is indeed a very very bad design my only excuse is the lack of will at the end of game jam to do something better XD. Scroll is not existing, u can just take bug and throw it and it will go on end of the queue... yeah the scroll would be much better option xD

Calming vibe. Responsive in a floaty character manner. Tho I would get myself tired especially my eyes as It feels a little to fast for a character to move. Could be a standalone eventually or a slightly more fast paced mini game inside some other calming game :)

Standalone yeah... the game jam curse. "I will clear the code and do from it seperate game" everyone said it, not much done it XD

I am most impressed by the pixel art artstyle that looks a bit like a painting. Another great chill game from Armez!

Weronika is responsible for the art style and she has a large classic artistic background, so this explains the atmosphere like in a painting

When playing Pixie The Catcher I was impressed by the chill and calm vibe it had. I really liked the idea of explaining the game mechanics by dialogues. Catching bugs was fun - each bug required a somewhat different approach, but in some cases spamming from close range was better than using attraction, it required good skills while "in air" tho, so it kept being a fun challenge. I didn't really know how terrariums worked, but I managed to keep them all alive by pure skill extraordinary luck. During second playthrough I set up a goal of beating the previous score. I started the game, found a new place with many butterflies, catched many more bugs than before, but... I forgot to place them in terrariums after, so I finished with the score of 0. Summing things up - either if you are a renown bug catcher or a simple bug-catching-newbie you will have a fun time with this game's soothing atmosphere.

The spamming method is always the best ona but don't tell anybody
