Fun little game, i enjoyed its simplicity. My highest score was 38, I don't know if that's good?!

The black borders around the UFOs made the hit box a little too forgiving, but i liked that the acceleration on the projectiles meant that you had to learn the timing.

Thanks, and to your question, I don't really know haha

Definitely a nice exercise of game design! Your win condition surprised me with its simplicity. Upon first impression, it felt like nothing new, but then I began to realize that not many games actually use "failure to prevent" as lose condition. Being relatively simple, this immediately spurred on other variants, and was solid enough controls-wise (which is what matters in a simple loop such as this one!) to let my mind just drift as I played. That's a type of game that isn't as common, either.

How experienced are you in making games, if I may ask?

Thank you very much!

I made the game with my friend, and he really helped me with the UI and the movement.
I don't know how experienced he is, but I've been learning programming for almost 5 years (although I started programming in unity 6 months ago).

Cool game :) The controls felt tight and I liked how you added a tutorial. In terms of feedback, I thought that a different type of lose condition could have made the game a bit more engaging. Perhaps having the enemies randomly shoot at downwards at you would have been more exciting as you try to dodge bullets to avoid dying. Good job overall though!

Developer

We wanted to add that, but we also wanted to have a little twist in the game, so it won't be like any other space shooter.

Overall a nice, simple take on galaga, could use some polish in the player movement, ufo sprite clipping, and animations / particles, but overall good game.
