No pre-made artwork, all clay models made by me.
How many members in your team?
Anything you want to say to players before they play?
I wanted to capture the cheesiness of a movie like this in game form as well. So instead of silly CGI all artwork is done with claymation. And naturally no sound because there is none in space! It's a feature! (ok really I ran out of time... but we'll go with feature)
The entire game can be played without the mouse. "Shoot" will start the game on the title screen and menus are full keyboard supported.
Added Xbox 360 Controller support (at least that's what I have to test with). I haven't had time to test it out on different systems, so not sure how stable it is.
If you're having trouble staying alive, try zooming out. You can see the sharks and clay clumps coming from further away.

Lovely graphics! I included it in my Movie Game Jam compilation video series, if you’d like to check it out! :)
This clay explosion is a blast!
I enjoyed the game and really wanna see more space claymade games in the future!
Thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed it! It certainly won't be the last clay game I make and maybe it'll inspire a trend of space claymation!
I really like the art and controls you have! It looks so good it just needs sound :( I had a fun time. Did you photograph clay or something for the sprites? It looks so awesome.
Thanks so much for playing and your comments, I enjoyed watching your video!
I did indeed photograph clay models to make all the sprites! I actually made the models myself out of clay then photographed them on a green screen in each different animation stage. It took quite a while to make but was a lot of fun.
I plan to update it with sounds after the jam is over, I just ran out of time and didn't get to adding the sounds. But wanted to wait until after the judging to be fair of what I actually got done in the time.
that’s so cool. Thanks for disclosing!
Really neat take on the typical Asteroids concept. I've never played a game with claymation graphics before. Really captures the cheesiness.
Thanks for playing! As time consuming as it was for just a small game with claymation I can understand why there aren't many games out there that attempt it!
I liked the clay objects but I missed some feedback on the player actions. There's no sound, which would be the minimum. Some screenshake would also help with feedback. Even better would be to kick the spaceship whenever being hit by something. Overall it's a solid entry and it shows that you did a bit of effort on this. So, well done!
Thanks for playing and your comments! I agree it needs some feedback on getting hit, I spent all my time making clay models and didn't get around to working on the sounds :P ! Screen shake or kicking the ship are great suggestions. I'll probably update this some more after the jam and look to implement those as well as some sounds. Thanks again for playing!
Love the claymation graphics! Well done, nice little game :)
Thank you so much for playing and taking the time to comment!
Love the claymation art style. The camera hop rather than follow was a bit jarring at first but the controls felt great at the same time.
Thank you so much for playing and your feedback! By camera hop do you mean the transition from one side of the area to the other? (Just trying to get a feel for what might seem unnatural to players)
Yeah, how when you go out of bounds in one screen it "hops" over to the next like there are several static camera points rather following the player.
A simplistic arcade game in its concept and graphics, but which has the merit of perfectly fulfill the instructions requested: nice, effective, stable, accessible, clearly inspired by a film sequence, ... In short, a modest short game, which responds perfectly to all requirements ! The "modeling clay/toy" aesthetic is very well done. A musical background would have been welcome, but for the rest, this game offers exactly what we are entitled to hope. Congratulations !
Thank you so much! I agree it needs some music or sound effects, I just wasn't able to get it all done in time.
Thank you for playing!
Fun little asteroids style game with a fun claymation look.
Thanks for playing!
