I might just be bad at platformers but man, I got infuriated with this game. But strangely enough, it...kinda worked out? Like, I'd be thinking of just quitting the game after not making a jump for the umpteenth time, and then accidentally find one of the secrets (which were awesome, btw) and decide to keep going. Reminds me of Cat Mario a bit.

From a mechanics perspective though, this was interesting. The design was really thoughtful in terms of cheese placement which added a neat planning element to the game. My main criticism is just to give the player time to use it by cutting out the leaps of faith where you essentially had to jump into a seemingly empty pit. I'd also replace the grey gradient-cloud-rectangle thing that acts as a death zone with spikes. Early on I kept either mistaking those things for platforms and then dying, which was a bit frustrating.

Thanks for the criticism!  I'm not the best level designer, so it was hard for me to come up with platforming that was right in the sweet spot between almost impossible and too easy.  I also thought the death pits were self explanatory, but if I could change them to spikes, I would.  I can see how confusing that could get.

Pretty fun, good platforming design and mechanics.  Some tweaks to the hazards to make them more readable to the player and it would shape up nicely.

I liked how often the mechanics evolved! Good stuff!

Have you heard about the game called Muck before?  The creator of that game is a unity game programmer and is hyping up a big release for his new, more detailed game.  Here's his youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIabPXjvT5BVTxRDPCBBOOQ .

The cheese should really reset after a timer, because accidentally touching a cheese and then having to go find a spot to kill yourself is not very fun(Also sometimes the cheese doesn't actually reset on death)

Developer

Sorry about the frustration, I wanted to have the cheese respawn on death as a feature so you couldn't just cheese through the entire game in 3 minutes.  And I didn't know about the cheese not respawning, that's something I wasn't aware about.
