Very interesting concept, I will say what you did manage to submit was a delightful experience.

The game is good, I am impressed with what is done within the time given by only one person. I really liked that the I can choose the appearance of a character but there might be too much details about that.  Narrative is present, well-written

Very ambitious project. The Reaper's a fun character, and I enjoyed the addition of a character creator. I think you could have cut down on the complexity a bit, as the combat system left me a tad confused. One button to start dialogue and another to progress dialogue doesn't make much sense, but I'm guessing it was implemented to stop loops from happening. Anyway, keep it up!

Developer

Thank you, yeah I went a bit too ambitious, too be honest I'm used to jam's normally about 2-3 days, so with 10 days I just sort of went wild at the start and the feature creep struck when I realised I didn't have half the stuff I needed towards the, the dialogue was made to stop loops, and was only supposed to be a quick fix I would later re-do but then the deadline creeped up. As for the combat... it was a bit of a rush to finish so there are definitely problems with it.

The character model was very nice though the character rotating whenever I went change any of the features made me have to maneuver around a bit to see the thing I was changing. It would be nice if you could have it zoom in on the feature that's associated with the change. Also I'm not sure how I did this, but while the Reaper was explaining how to attack, I flew off the map. I think I was pressing space too much (I learned that if I pressed enter it would keep looping the dialogue), so I had to restart. Other than that, I like character models, the mechanics, and the puns, so keep up the good work!

Developer

Thanks, yeah the rotating at the customizer was just one of those problems that was just small enough for me to procrastinate fixing until the end, and that was the plan to zoom on the associated feature, but again it was just a small thing that I had procrastinated off. I don't know what happened to get you flying off the map, but... I think there was an issue where you sort of build up momentum if you press space too much, so it must be done to that. Thanks for playing the game!

More polish in the character creator would be awesome but otherwise interesting! And really impressed with how much you managed to do with the time frame.

Developer

Thanks, I'm really kicking myself over the character, I'd just sort of procrastinated it while I finished everything else.

Always a struggle isn't it? :D I feel you...
