Great little arcade game, loved the 3D feel of it. The theme selection is a nice touch. Hit detection felt spot on and it wasn't bogged down by menus or unneeded UI. Liked the enemy variety and the endless play of it.

The lock-in-place-and-shoot mechanics felt a little weird / clunky to me. It would have felt more fluid for me if you could lock the direction but still allow "strafing." So A button would still lock the shooting direction but the dpad would allow for movement. I am sure there are reasons for your design choice though so take this with a grain of salt.

Overall great entry, loved it.

I liked the Easter egg (or should I say "Halloween pumpkin") of having thematic enemies on the Halloween stage :)

This is a very nice game with some great visuals and fun gameplay. One thing that would be cool is if the different stages were more than just aesthetic. Different initial fuel layouts maybe?

I appreciate the two-player mode and the chaos of the friendly-fire, though I might suggest tweaking enemy behaviour so that the game doesn’t become significantly easier after pressing Start on an otherwise-unused second controller

Love the visuals, as I've mentioned before. Will definitely be coming back to this one for future co-op. Also, rad screen effect to and from title screen.

It could benefit from an additional mechanic or two though. Personally, I'd suggest:

  • Something for a quick boost of speed (maybe once per wave or earned in another way); and
  • Some type of collectible wave between enemy waves for some risk/reward (keep my ship close to guard the tanks or go get the coins/whatever).

You could even kill two birds with one stone and have items that spawn between waves to regenerate the boost.

Oh, and the only reason I knew there was a 2-player mode was from previous discord conversations. Combined with the fact that streamers seem to read Tarmac, the default stage setting, as part of the title/introduction text, restructuring to a more traditional title screen (1P/2P start followed by stage select) might help.

All that said, what's there is really well executed.

Good fun, especially with a second person! I like the ability to crash into an enemy.

Developer

It was designed to be a 2p experience first, then i made it one player as well so more people could play it. Thanks for the kind words!
