Since the voting is over, I updated the game. Changes:

  • Added Neuro Game SDK integration
  • Potentially fixed the disappearing Neuro bug (never managed to reproduce it)
  • Minor changes to the main menu.

9.01.2024 changes:

  • Neuro Game SDK integration: stopped forcing Neuro to close the "game over" screen.
  • Removed trivia text from "Let Neuro play" screen which was sometimes covered by the selection buttons.
  • Changed the way player sprite is selected to be displayed to avoid an extremely rare possibility of the game intentinally choosing not to display any sprite at all.

11.01.2024 changes:

  • Adjusted messages sent to Neuro through the Neuro Game SDK to make them easier to understand
  • Fixed missing version text in main menu

One of the best integrations of the theme.
Game may be too challenging.
Good job and good luck with development.

I still haven't been able to replicate the reported bugs. However, I think I've found a solution that should solve the disappearing Neuro problem for those who experience it. I'll push the potential fix once voting is over.

I'm also going to push Neuro SDK integration. Work in progress, but I'm confident I'll get it to work ^^

I also might release a web build. I had no idea how Itch works and didn't know you can have multiple builds - silly me (tehe~)

Developer

Thanks for comments and for bug reports.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to replicate the bugs. If I manage to come across the problems or someone points at what might be causing them, I'll try to fix them after the voting period ends.

Gameplay is unique yet it is hard. Need to restart sometimes on present neuro but i cant.

Your next line is.../10

This is a cool puzzle concept, really liked it. I couldn't figure out the fifth level, though.

I also have witnessed the same bug Bryi0 has with similar conditions. If it helps: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, RTX 2060 GPU

Developer

Thank you for the comment!

Are you by any chance on Windows 11? I can't check Windows 11 quickly but I'm starting to think this might the common denominator for this bug.

Developer

I figured out the bug. It's a conversion error which most likely appears when the game experiences high framerate. I'll be pushing a fix tomorrow, when I finalise the Neuro SDK integration.

Moral of the story: let floats be floats and ints be ints :D

This is really cool but i got a bug where i cant see neuros sprite making it hard to read

Developer

Oh, thank you for the report! Is the sprite invisible for you at all or does the bug trigger if a particular set of conditions is met?

Submitted

its invisible at all times except the first move

Developer

I see. Could you share what kind of machine you're running? I think the most valuable info would be the system, the CPU and the GPU.

This is a really fun little puzzle game. It got pretty challenging, but in a good way.
