  • A really well-done, complete game! I liked seeing this puzzle game with some cute RPG-like interactive elements, such as the party members with their own abilities, and small 'cutscenes' between the characters. It gave them some depth in a short time. The visuals are neat, and clear, and match the vibe of the game. The character animations are cute too - I like how Fae walks differently. The music was good, but the moments of wavering notes that was meant to be whimsical, did start to bother me a little. But overall, it was still a nice little tune. The typewriter speed was pretty good, but I still read faster than it. Having a "fill out dialogue" with a press of space is must-have for any game with dialogue. The game played smoothly, I did not run into any bugs while I was playing, and all the interactive elements made sense. the circular nature of the map did help guide you to the next part pretty well, though I've played these games a lot, so maybe my intuition is a little sharper. Something like a map, or even unique identifying items/interactive things to help remind you where you are would have helped with that. The puzzles themselves were good! I did make a mistake once, and after that took a second to think before rushing to solve them. I could definitely see a lot of potential growth in both the story, and the puzzles if you all decide to work on it more. I almost want to see this group grow up while having small adventures together. The writing occasionally leaned into ostentatious that kind of strayed from the original feeling. I recognized it mainly because I can be very guilty of the same trap. Simple writing would work better, even for the narrator this game (it could get more complicated as time goes on if you go that route). I did like the line about kids and cats to be accepted and not understood, though! Overall, a very good game jam game. Really well done, and made with love. I hope all of you got a lot from the jam and are proud of this work! PS: I did get a little worried at the beginning when I saw a 'strange flower', I had some Undertale flashbacks, haha! Also, I'm convinced Socks is secretly a dragon, hoarding gold.

Wow, wow, wow. This was so good! From the start, hearing the music and sound effects for the text was nostalgic. Then finding Fae, building that trust through the minigame, and then learning she has her own skill with the plants... incredible!

If your team continues to work on this game (which I hope you do!), it could be cool to have a map in the corner showing areas you've already explored. I found myself wandering around the same area at first and getting lost more than I'd like to admit. lol

Thank you for playing! A mini-map to help navigate the world is a great idea!

This game was really excellent, and I am amazed by the amount of quality and polish that it had given the short time frame. Amazing job!

It's a shame about the door bug - but the aesthetic and atmosphere of this game is really calming and puts you at ease. Every character has a distinct and appealing personality and their interactions were nice and heartwarming. Great job everyone!
