  • I enjoyed it, short and simple gameplay, reminds me of some old army-building flash games. The controls and UI are very intuitive, it runs very smoothly, and I thought the root building mechanic was interesting. Great job with the theme as well. Not too much gameplay, I finished it within a few minutes, but definitely a good base to scale off of. And saving the best for last, the art was so cute! I loved it. The animations, the backgrounds, the environment. Love love love. Thank you for participating in our jam!

Honestly I am blown away by the quality of this game and that you managed to make it in only a week! The gameplay was really solid and the visuals were incredible. Amazing job!!

I really loved it! The gameplay reminds me of a flash game I used to play long time ago, yet the idea is really fresh and original! Growing your roots to gather resources is brilliant! Oh and the graphics (and story/dialogues too)...so cute!!!

Really really well done! Braviiii!!!

Developer

I have a feeling we've both played the same flash game haha. Thanks for checking the game out!

I love this game, it's the most original idea I've seen so far and the graphics are brilliant. Would love to see more of this!
Oh, one small suggestion: when you spawn a unit there's a cooldown, right? Could you add a cooldown indicator to make this more obvious?

Developer(+1)

Really glad you enjoyed the game! There's actually a small grey bar that comes up on the bottom of the unit button after training and it gets smaller as the cooldown ticks by, but yeah, I realise now that it's way too small lol.

Amazing game, I really enjoyed just about every aspect of it! The visuals were cute, game play was fun and reminded me of old tower defense flash games. I liked that you included tips for players struggling in the description as well.  The idea of defending the tree and growing your roots was a cool take on the theme and the genre in general. Congrats! It was really well made!

Developer

Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed our game! We were actually going for something like those old flash strategy games haha, I'm happy you found our overall game idea fun!

Great game! I really like how you walked us through what was going on and had the mini tutorial in there. The ONLY thing I was missing was maybe some sort of visual feedback when I successfully reached an activator with the roots. I was a bit confused by what those things showing up underground meant. (I spent a few moments trying to click on them to “collect” them.)

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing our game and giving your honest feedback!

I'll definitely look into improving the responsiveness of the roots system. Allowing the player to click on the stones like you did seems like a really intuitive way to add some more player interaction with the game - so thanks for bringing that up! 😄

This game is INCREDIBLE I have no idea why this still doesn't have any comments! Both the gameplay and the arts were amazing, I'm shocked you guys could develop this in just 7 days!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you so much for the kind words! To be honest, we feel like we overscoped a little for a 7 day jam so we couldn't add as much polish and depth as we wanted - but we're glad to have made something people enjoyed. 😊

Thanks for playing!
