A series of notes I made while playing this collection of delights:
I don't know a lot about trolling but this was wonderful and you are very clever.
Lovely collection of a wide variety of ZZT experiences, covering a wide gamut of polish and scope. These are all ZZT to me.
I do really like the original idea of the random game installer, but was also one of the many folks unable to get it working.
ZZTorture you were there for the stream of, so yada yada good capturing of "my first ZZT game" energy with some fun art that made it feel more high effort than keeping the yellow borders and throwing in a pile of lions before calling it a day. Nice invisible centipede >:(
Sorry streaming plans fell apart and we couldn't go with the original plan of quietly streaming one per stream and making no comment on the fact that multiple games were made.
I did want to at least check out Dink while I had some time because I am a sucker for Zelda 1. I did at least record that: in this currently unlisted video. But the long and short of it is that it felt very early MZX-ey and felt like a solid enough groundwork for a more original Zelda styled game. (It's a tough sell to strip down the original game these days when it's so easy for folks to play.) I would genuinely like to see what a Weave Zelda-inspired original adventure might look like. Dink seems like a good rough draft to build from.

I enjoyed the surprise the installer gave me once I figured out what it needed!
Loved wall punching and had a lot of fun firing people. Great work!
I had to revisit and re-rate because I missed one!
While ZZTort purports to be a game in the "classic" style, the thing it has that eluded the "lost" games we see nearly every week - polish - is also present in the other three offerings to various degrees. Fire1000 feels like it would have fit right in with the entries of the last 2.4HoBKZZT - a slightly janky, fully softlockable, expression of a core idea. Dink is the most ambitious and would have been an absolute nightmare to debug - I didn't encounter any game-breaking bugs or other major flaws the entire time I played - remarkable!
[Edit: Super Wall Puncher's the one I missed. And genuinely, flawless. I played through three times and got a different ending each time. The punchiest ending really doesn't disappoint. Gave me genuine big laughs]
"Remarkable" is correct all round. Aggressively weird trolls from left field combined with ones I saw coming a mile away. A rich tapestry that managed to amuse again and again. Bravo.
Going over all these in the order I played them:
Dink - I am not very good at The Legend of Zelda games anymore ;_; (Enjoyed the game over screen though!)
Fire A Thousand - Probably the one I had the most fun out of the four-pack with. I caught most of the references and the humor reminded me of Get That Dollar. XD
Super Wall Puncher - I haven’t punched all the walls ;_;
ZZTorture - Cute. (I had fun. =p)
