I absolutely loved it! The atmosphere of mystery, the riddles, the hints... All of it combined with a first-person camera and a pumpkin which light progressively goes out as the loop ends. The loops are very short, so the more you solve the riddles the harder it gets to reach all of them at once. So, I suggest a pen and a scrap of paper 🥸
The game size is huge, it took ages to load up but, when it did was an amazing atmosphere with the dimly lit pumpkin being a great idea. It really felt like I was gonna be jump scared at any point. However, trying to navigate where you're actually meant to be going to pretty difficult, with the total darkness and I had no clue where to go past the radio. Amazing game regardless though.
Thanks for the feedback! We tested a lot the WebGL version but, as we said, it has undefined behavior from machine to machine. And we honestly didn't have the time to find a fix to that.
Speaking of the radio, if you want a hint:
The radio has a channel with some precise sounds! Try to solve that puzzle! And there is another hint that refers to the radio and which is needed for solving one of the main puzzle!
Have fun ❤️
very good atmosfear, and nice idea with the pumpkin as candle. but when you have no lights, there should not be all in black, you should the the main-shapes. but not so important, the game make much fun. the first i saw was the pantera-poster, my favourite metal-band! good work!
Thanks for the feedback! We decided to keep everything black for not giving the chance to the player to solve the riddle without the lantern, which is the trigger that starts the timer! 😁
Nice integration of the jack-o-lantern and overall design of the atmosphere. Load screen music evokes BioShock vibes.
I'm glad you had the little dot on screen for cursor location; before noticing this, I was having trouble targeting candles. I would see something pop-up but initially had problems locating which item I could interact with.
The main music was a totally random search on YouTube! We were thinking about putting it on the radio too, but we were afraid that players could think that the song was a hint for the riddle!
As a big Bioshock enthusiast, I appreciate the comparison ❤️
I liked the replay factor. nicely done :D
Thanks ❤️
I wasn't able to figure this one all out, but it's a really slick looking creepy puzzle game. Visually, this definitely one of the most impressive games in the jam, and I love the idea to use a jack-o-lantern as a flashlight~
Thanks for the comment! We appreciate it a lot! Take your time to finish it, it doesn't run away ❤️
Awesome game! I liked the creepy atmosphere and strange lighting, as well as the fitting low-poly artwork. It could have used a few jumpscares, though I understand that this is a creepy game, not a horror game. I like the puzzles, however they are very challenging. I have yet to complete it after multiple tries.
Overall, this game is well done (especially for one done during a short game jam like this, and with such a little in-game gameplay to give the player). Nice job!
Thanks for the feedback! We decided for a creepy atmosphere because the jam asked for a non realistic horror and we were afraid of breaking the jam rules!
Have fun with the game!!!
It's an interesting idea, but I couldn't complete it :( I was a little bit lost at what to do
Thanks for the reply! I know, it's a puzzle game, it takes time 😔
If you wanna finish it and you can't find your way out, feel free to write me here or on discord! I'll gladly help you out!
I didn't complete it, but I love the visual choice!
The audio fits in well too, though I'm sad there's no background music. However, I think the choice to leave it out adds very well to the atmosphere.
Hey there, thanks for the comment! Yeah we decided to leave music out because of the creepy atmosphere! I think the main theme is good enough to building up the game vibes!
