Congrats on finishing the game jam! I like the art style and how far you went with the pumpkin theme. The pumpkin monsters and the pumpkin lamps on the background make for a nice atmosphere. I didn't run into any bugs during my playthrough. (I got through to the end on Normal). I like the thumbnail image you have, it shows off the art and made me interested in playing.
Constructive criticism:
1. On the start menu there is something wrong with the buttons, they do not always react. I clicked it a few times before it worked. I reloaded the game a few times and it seems like there's just some sort of delay.
2. Once your character is off screen you're just waiting for him to die, it's a bit of a needless wait.
3. Overall the pacing of the game feels somewhat slow? I am often just waiting for the next thing to load, there's no real play in that.
4. I assume you were going for a hidden area when you jumped into the wall above the tunnel but it didn't feel like a discovery, it felt like the game was broken. If it was reactive in some way (flashing a color in that section or something) then maybe it would feel like there was more intent behind it.
Thank you for you criticism, I think all your points are fair and I get that the normal mode feels a bit slow, it's sort-of a tutorial to get used to the level for the later game modes when you don't feel like you're waiting for the next area to load. Thank you for playing my game :)
Nice game, good looking characters and animations. The ui and screen size (at least in the webgl build) is a bit buggy but it is possible to play it with some workarounds.
I like it, the graphic is cool, the character design is awesome. The side scrolling is making the exploring a bit hard because you can't backtrack to what you miss, but makes you want to play more too because you want to try it again. I don't know why the layout is so big i can't see most of it (pic below). And the jump is kinda floaty so pretty hard to maneuver. Maybe if you want to make it floaty, make the character is flying or gliding.
try doing it with full screen on your computer so it doesn't have the tabs or sidebar, then it should be fine (when I was making it I made it HD for some reason). Thank you for playing :)
The art is fantastic! I really like your parallax background. The movement controls were a little sticky and jump felt a little too floaty, but other than that the game has a pretty solid backbone. Was only able to find 2/3 of the golden pumpkins. One odd bug I notices is if an enemy walked over a golden pumpkin it would disappear from sight, but you could still pick it up if you want to the area. Great job!
Nice side scroller. Graphics were very nice (especially liked the background art and depth).
For feedback: for some reason the main menu felt intermittent. When mouseover one of the options, the font reacted, however clicking the option didn't always start the game. Took many clicks and restarts. When getting caught behind a wall that scrolls off screen (that tall wall before the large scaling pumpkin), it's a slow death waiting for your health to reach zero; maybe an instant kill off screen would be better.
It was neat that you could unlock the different difficulty levels that sped the game up quite a bit. For me, the faster pace made me miss that jump up that wall more often.
nice graphics, good controls, chilly sound, this minute had done much fun. only little minus is the sart-menue, there is hangs sometimes (on windows-version and browser-mode)

Really nice art and animations! I think the hitboxes need a little of polish and maybe give a reason to the players to fight instead of just skip the enemies. Good work!
Thanks for the feedback, yeah there isn't much point in fighting them so they're more of an obstacle especially in the later gamemodes.

This game is soooo cool, I liked the art a lot.
The only thing I didn't like were the buttons, I thought that I could click on any of the letters to trigger them.
The art and music in this game are really impressive!
I do feel the platforming mechanics could be tighter. They're kind of floaty and the player is able to wall jump in a way that didn't feel intentional. It also didn't feel worth fighting the enemies vs running past them.
Lastly, my playthru ended with a bug after unlocking Insane mode where none of the buttons on the level screen worked anymore : (
Still, one of the best-looking entries in the jam! Keep up the good work~
The assets were amazing, and all contributed to this fun mix between adventure and creepiness. That was VERY well done. As for the controls, it would be nice if attack had a keyboard button, maybe X or C, rather than having to go over to the mouse and breaking the console-like atmosphere.
Also, you can go through the walls occasionally, which is very annoying.
Overall, very fun game, amazing atmosphere. Nice job!
Going through walls isn't a bug, its a feature. LOL
But thank you for the feedback because I didn't know whether it would be a good idea to have them for the later gamemodes or not
The game is pretty fun. Music, sounds and the art style are all amazing. Hitboxes were a bit wonky though. Overall a great submission.
Arts Amazing, Music's Amazing, But It had around 4 bugs, its obvious you didn't use the full five days,

enemy clips into floor when dead
You can go through some walls without there being any indication you could do so
If you go to high off screen sometimes it just keeps you there and kills you

Solid gameplay and mechanics. Great audio and style. Interesting secret locations. Some of the jumps would not register and they are floaty so its much harder in the later difficulties
Pretty solid but bits that may have been secrets felt like could of just been broken (jumping through walls at top and enemies wandering below in the ground. Art was good although not sure if its from a pack or not, pumpkin enemies and lamp posts were may favourite. Jumps felt quite floaty but i could see for the level design this was necessary.
The going through walls and such were mainly for the later gamemodes where it goes so fast that doing it the regular way becomes very difficult, but thank you for the tips on the jumping, thanks for playing :)
