Simple, intuitive and fun! Good music, coherent graphics and it fits both jam themes perfectly! I only really have one suggestion and that would be: In top-down games, the hit boxes should only hit around the lower half. This makes it feel like everyone is laying down vs standing.

The red line is where it's at, the yellow line is about as tall as it should ever be, imho. As-in, I think I should be able to walk right up to that tombstone but that's as close as I can get.

Anyway, just a small gripe. Fantastic job!

Developer

Ah yeah, you're right about that! This would definitely be something I would do if I ever enhance this, or build on it for something else.

Thanks for your kind words!

Just rated this one, very nice! Good graphics consistency and a catchy tune. However, one thing I found was that only one level was a little short, although for only a  month of developing that's understandable. I found the garlic enemy's AI challenging, I died to him twice, which is a good thing.

Overall, a fun game to pick up on a rainy afternoon. Well done! :)

Hey loved the game! Really great to see this come together in such a complete a ready form.

Pros:

  • The controls were super smooth and intuitive. Loved running around and blasting zombies
  • The mechanics are good, enjoyed the long distance bullets and enemy patterns (especially the ghosts)
  • The animations are cute and the artwork is really great. Everything feels complete and together. Paired with the title screen this game feels very polished.

Minor criticisms:

  • Would have loved a bullet shooting sound (very small idea)
  • I ran to the top right initially on the first level trying to get to the next area but quickly realized I needed to go down instead of to the top right.
  • Would love to see more levels! Looking forward to see if this project continues :)

Overall a short but sweet experience. Thanks so much for sharing your game!

Haha yeah, unfortunately I left audio to the last minute, so I'm missing a lot of sound effects that I'd like to have.
Thanks for your feedback!

It is a really entertaining game, and the music and the art go together quite nicely.it could, however be a bit longer. collision is also a bit weird. I shot a zombie and it ended up being shoved directly into my character.

Developer

Ah, that's not something I've seen yet. I didn't put enough work into collisions though - definitely something to look into. Thanks!
