Thanks so much for playing and for your detailed review! Really great points about art and story. Those are two aspects that definitely needed a lot more work I think. I think having a story would have been a really awesome addition, just didn’t have enough time to work it in for the jam.

Your comments about the levels are also on point, definitely something I will be more aware of going forward. Thanks again for your review and for playing!

Thanks so much for your detailed review! Level design was definitely one of the biggest challenges for me. I thought I could just slap some levels together but it turned out to be quite a challenge and a lot more difficult than that. The sprites I definitely didn’t get a chance to fix but noticed as well. I love the idea of adding more mechanics to make the game interesting. Thanks for your input and thanks for playing!

Nice game! Beat both levels, timing was tight but was able to squeeze it out which made it a good challenge. Adding the stars was also a great way to add some replayability. Well done.

Loved it! One small bug I found was if I am walking and then open my notes with ESC I keep walking until I leave the notes. Outside that such a fun experience!

Fun game! My high score is 443! Beat that!

Waiting until they clump up but not too long. This game had a lot more replayability than I initially thought. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful game and experience!

Hope this game can expand into more levels + upgrade system. Definitely would buy this on steam one day :)

Thanks for playing! This project was for a one month game jam and definitely could use a bit more work to get it where I wanted it to be. There’s no level selection or save system but those are both really good ideas! The level design is definitely one of the biggest struggles when making this project and I think the coin placement is definitely part of that.

Really appreciate your feedback, and thanks again for playing! Really means a lot to have you play so thank you!

Thanks so much for your detailed feedback! Yeah I definitely noticed the character model being off and didn’t have time / couldn’t figure it out fast enough to be able to fix the sprites.

The mechanics and level design were definitely my biggest struggles with this project and definitely wish I had spent more time in thinking about these aspects.

Really appreciate your detailed feedback and the ledge screenshot is really funny to me lol. Thanks for playing, really means a lot!

Absolutely lovely experience. Thank you so much for the game, really an awesome display of the chasergaming assets in such a complete and polished game. Loved the humor and dialog from Sara and the other characters and the travelling through time concept was a brilliant way to wrap together the different levels.

Really enjoyed playing through the game and each of the different mechanics of the characters offered a different flavor and unique experience each time. The level design was well thought out, and the criticisms that I would think of would be answered by the smart level design.

Love how it all came together and that the game is well packaged and seems very polished. While writing this review and revisiting the game I noticed the difficulty modifier and am excited to try the game again on the Hard setting. Thanks again and best of luck in the jam!

Absolutely loved the hub world! Definitely got really excited when I saw that and then started playing. A couple of small notes:

Pros:

  • Awesome art and music choices. The game has a very consistent theme and that's great
  • Graphics are really well done. The models are all appropriate and everything fits and flows well together.

Cons:

  • The mini-map didn't always line up and I wasn't really sure where I was going with the ship
  • My biggest gripe was the controls, never really figured it out as well I didn't figure out how to get back into the ship after starting to pilot it.

Overall I really enjoyed the experience. Definitely an awesome game and thanks for sharing it!

Whoops, definitely missed that. Will update the post, thanks!

Love the art style and music! Really happy to see this project come together as a very complete game! Love that there is multiple levels with different backgrounds. Gives the game a very nice progression feel.

Some notes:

Pros:

  • Art + music is great, really creates a nice vibe
  • The game ran smoothly for me with no bugs

Cons:

  • I didn't really understand the point of the "HitPoints" was my girlfriend losing health? I also didn't really see how I was losing the game potentially
  • Wish I could have seen my score on the end screen. Not sure what I got
  • Minor comment but would have loved a bullet sound with every gun shot
  • I just had my mouse at the bottom of the screen and pressed whenever an enemy passed by. There was no real challenge as the enemies would walk through my girlfriend regardless where she was and I wouldn't have to protect her at all. Thought they were trying to catch her? If on collision they stole her or I lost hit points it would have been a lot more of a challenge

Overall I love the game and it worked really smoothly on my windows machine. A short and sweet experience. The game also feels very complete. Couple of minor gameplay issues and I think this game could be taken to the next level!

Hi! I love the concept for the game, it seems really interesting and deep!

I had a couple of minor comments as well as some gameplay issues:

  • I loved that the main character explains the game when you first load. That's a nice touch!
  • After clicking start if I click "Gain Knowledge" I can't seem to escape the gain knowledge menu
  • Unfortunately after clicking the Begin Battle button I also am unable to play the game. It looks like the battle begins but the menu is still up and I can't really see what's going on behind the menu
  • If I click either of the build options the only thing I can see is the cursor changing but I can't place anything.
  • There are a couple minor spelling errors throughout the game that I saw: "Dungon, "witch", "Menue"
  • The colors on the home screen are a bit hard on the eyes.

Overall I hope that I am able to get past this menu issue and be able to play the game! Seems like a really cool and neat idea!

Hey loved the game! Really great to see this come together in such a complete a ready form.

Pros:

  • The controls were super smooth and intuitive. Loved running around and blasting zombies
  • The mechanics are good, enjoyed the long distance bullets and enemy patterns (especially the ghosts)
  • The animations are cute and the artwork is really great. Everything feels complete and together. Paired with the title screen this game feels very polished.

Minor criticisms:

  • Would have loved a bullet shooting sound (very small idea)
  • I ran to the top right initially on the first level trying to get to the next area but quickly realized I needed to go down instead of to the top right.
  • Would love to see more levels! Looking forward to see if this project continues :)

Overall a short but sweet experience. Thanks so much for sharing your game!

Cute game, loved the music and the three levels were pretty interesting! I think this is a cool concept that definitely can be expanded upon and your game can become really great! Looking forward to the next iteration!

Loved the art as well and the game worked well on my PC bug free

Hi everyone, created my first game with Phaser 3!

https://benmillercodes.itch.io/jalias-journey

It's a short platformer that spans over many different levels. Spent a lot of time trying to get the player's mechanics right.

Would love to get any feedback. Thanks so much!

Thanks! Here it is https://benmillercodes.itch.io/jalias-journey

That is so sad :(

Hello! I'm having trouble finding out where to submit my game.

Thanks so much in advance!
