This is a well put together story, I always enjoy scenes in government offices when the rebellion/war/conflict reaches their door.  One thing I would suggest is to avoid similes that hinge around real life (hit like a semi truck) as it pulls me out of the world a little.

I enjoyed this story. I especially like the interactions between Selta and Gorgrok. it really seemed like they went back a long time. The ending was also great.

I think you did a good job of pacing this one - it's the perfect amount of content for the length limit and winds up feeling neither cramped nor rushed. Your flow and clarity have also improved since your last jam entry - nicely done!
