i do really like this story, but feel like it missed the theme.
enjoyable read though.
I liked what you were going for here, and I think you could really go all-in on presenting the perspective of the Robot Legions. The piece could have engaged more directly with the theme of the jam, such as by exploring why the Legions understand their rebellion to be justified. You do hint at this when XB-7 thinks of their old enemies as 'oppressors', but more thoroughly expounding on this idea would have helped the story mesh with the given theme for the jam.
Didn't seem like the Robots thought they were bad guys (or their meatbag opponents either), but not a bad yarn. Liked the bit about transforming the surrounding material into replacement parts to recover from damage.
Really enjoy this premise, especially the language of the protagonist, but felt like it missed the mark on theme. Really loved seeing the world through a robot's eyes
