Description
The genre is ambient. I wanted to have a "light atmospheric" touch to it.
I ended up with 2 tracks, one slow and one fast paced.
I didn't have much time so I had to rush things unfortunatly :/ Especially the mix in the Night Run in not very good...

Theme
How does it fit the theme?
I used the picture for the theme and I wanted to represent the unknown of a night walk, with the peace and quiet going with it. I also wanted to represent the mystic behind the dear of the picture.

The arpeggios at first sound a bit generic, but the crisp snare kick adds an element of surprise, and the synthesizer lead hovering over all of this is surreal, serene, and disarming. I immediately feel myself immersed in a lush, dreamlike environment that can only exist through the mediation of these devices. This is the sort of Muzak I would listen to for hours just to be able to focus, to ground myself, or to meditate. (Who does that any more?) This gets Five Stars for Quality. The dark chords, nebulous in their mood and character, oscillating dynamically between minority and majority, are also a smart choice, and this becomes even more obvious during the martial track. The drum backbeat could use more variation, but it's just subdued enough not to be a blemish but a flourish.

Whoa, thanks for your comment !
Didn't think someone would see so much in these tracks ^^
I am not so familiar with Muzak, but will check it right away !
Nice ideas, good composition. As you said, could have been better polished but they are in a good way. Well done!
Omg! This soundtrack is simple, but when I heard Night Run I was really impressed! It's upbeat and really encouraging. Good job!
Thank you very much !
I really like how well both of these tracks groove! They also work really well together as walking and running, I can definitely hear that in each track. I think for Night Run, you could maybe try just switching up the chord progression more. And I like the drums on both tracks, but they do make them less ambient and more of a groove.
I think it’s a matter of personal taste, and whether or not you want to convey something more ambient or rhythmic!
Thanks for your feedback !
You're right about Night run, I wished I had time to developp more the progression. It is more a sketch than a finish piece right now.
I tried to be more ambient in the song, so this effect created by the drums are not really wanted. It is interesting that you felt that way. But anyway, like previous comments also said, a lot work have still to be done on drums for both of the tracks !
I think the slow track would be much better without drums at all, apart from that, very nice music!
Thank you :)
Indeed, drums seems to be a big controversy in these songs ^^
I liked the overall ambience. Something about the rythm of the melody on "Night Walk" felt slightly off to me - it might be worth to try and quantize it if you haven't already. The melody on "Night Run" was very catchy, it worked really well, and I also liked the drums in there - the drum pattern could use some variation but I didn't think it was out of place - probably a matter of personal taste :) Great work!
Thank you very much !
After re-listening to it, I definetly did some mistake playing the melody. Unfortunatly, I didn't have enough time to correct it. I just began composition not so long ago, and always played live before. I discovered that it is in fact really hard to play perfectly when recording. The slightiest mistake can really ruin a performance. I have to work harder on that !
I have to agree with BlitzAudio, I think the drums could be different. After the mellow character of the first song, the second would stand apart more if the drums had more bite (especially the snare).
Thank for the feedback !
Yes you are right, there is some work needed on drums. I think that having them quieter in the mix would have been better for the first song. And bite is the good word, it does not have enough in the night run. will be carefull about that for my next compositions :)
Very cool soundtrack and great mood ! Love particularly Night Run ! Maybe if you try to change sometimes the harmony in the chords would bring even more depth to it :)
Thank you !
It's true that it can be quite repetitive, will take that into account for my next compositions :)
I believe the tracks would benefit from a melody on top. And, just as test, you should tray them with no drums. Maybe add the drums only in the last part of track #2
It's true that I always hesitate about drums when it comes to ambient/atmospheric pieces.
Maybe this one would have been better without or more discret drums. I'll try that :)
Thanks for the feedback :)
i think , in creativity, this deserves a high calification, but i think it would be better if you added that melody from night walk also in the night run
Thank you !
I wanted to add some melody, and more complexity for night run, but I didn't have musch time for the jam...
You're right, maybe just transposing the melody could have done the trick, I keep that in mind for next project !
You have a good sense of melody. Doing a "run" and a "walk" was a smart solution.
Thanks !
In fact, I wanted to have something for exploration and one for battle/boss.
I came up with titles after.
Very nice music, "Night Run" sounds cool.
Thank you :)
