Description
Soundtrack genre: electronic-based made for an (imaginary) 2D side-scrolling pixellated platformer
Message from the artist:
Thank you for checking out my submission to itch.io OST Composing Jam#3!
Theme:
How does it fit the theme?
The quest to vanquish the Jelly King mirrors the jelly-making process starting with the hot (summer) and progressing to the cold/cooling down (winter) and ending in a frozen castle lair. This is also reflected in the game's graphical palette shift from reds to blues.

really love the synth sounds on this, and the way they interweave. and I second the opinion on the drum sound- it really helps drive things along while simultaneously keeping things chill. great little tune!
Nice track, I'm a big fan of the crisp analogue drum kit you chose. The whole song reminds me of something you'd hear on the radio in the 'Jalopy' game that came out a couple of years back - Quality work.
Thank you - that's appreciated given I am definitely not drum-minded and tend to find making beats to be hard.
Sounds like it would make good background music to a game you describe: some of the synths have a nice wibbly-wobbly feeling to them like jelly :)
That is actually a really cool comment and made me laugh, thank you.
Because the Jelly King beckons...
What year do you think this game was released? Dig it, I think if you had something in the low-end it would fill out the track a bit more.
I was thinking 2000-ish.
this is fun! I love your take on the theme, and the music itself has a good vibe.
Nice retro BGM with good instrument picks.
The story of your game cracks me up, definitely goes well with the playful synth track you've composed for it. I'd like to see the Jelly King :D
Something along this lines of this: (I wish I had 3D drawing skills, or really any kind of drawing skills...!)
Hahahah! Awesome! That's not far off from what I was imagining in my head. I might have to send you a fan doodle!
For a laugh, here is my (very very rough) attempt at a 3D image of the Jelly King!
