Description
In a level or chapter of a RPG, a theme for some kind of village in a dimension where everything looks like a dream where the hero/heroine has been sent to, and so they have to find a way to come back to their original world. The main character is lost since this place is complete nonsense (like a dream), but the villagers are fine with this because that's how they have been living for centuries, it's their "world".
For the base of this theme, I just grabbed my guitar to try to find the chords and the melody that would fit the mood I was looking for (something that sounds a little bit strange but "pleasant", and that goes in different directions that could be unexpected, just like in a dream). And then I tried to transcribe this with MIDI instruments in Cubase (VSTs used are mainly Analog Lab by Arturia, the BBC Orchestra by Spitfire Audio and Monster Ethnica. This was the hardest part for me because I always struggle when I have to choose the sounds that work the best for me. I also did my best for the mixing.

How does it fit the theme?
When the theme was announced (and the artwork), my first thought was "dream", because I think that dreams are some of the most personal things to us, they are the creations of our brain, and they are different for everyone, so it's literally a unique "world" for each individual. The artwork also helped me with this because it reminds me a lot of how dreams are depicted in medias. So this is why I imagined a world, a village (villages are often synonym of safe place in games) but with random events happening . I tried to illustrate this in my music by changing the instrumentations and the style in different sections, changing the time signature and the tempo. I used a lot of major 7th chords because they make it easy to use chromatism or modulate to get that "dreamy" sound.

I love your detailed approach to composition structure and deliberate choice of certain chords! (I can't do that, heh...).

Very beautiful, enchanting and pleasing to the ear.

Thanks for the good work, bro!

At first its sort of listless in a wonderful way (That's not really the word I'm looking for I just got description block) before really settling into a clear and grounded idea.  It gives it a really nice effect, like an adventure is starting

Yeah I see what you mean (but I don't know the specific word either)! Thank you very much!

I greatly appreciate you explaining your musical choices such as the reason you used certain chords or why you changed instrumentations because it helps me better see you vision for the song!

Developer

Thank you!

Yeah, it's pretty tough to make it clear without real visuals of what I had in mind ^^'
