Description
Hii! This is a one-take cover of "Possum Springs" from "Night in the Woods", using my voice and a guitar. I'm on a vacation and don't have the tools I usually use to make music, so I decided to try something different.
I thought "what if I used my voice and a guitar as the main instruments?". And I did.
I started listening to the original with the guitar in my hands, and after days of practicing and thinking how it would sound less worse, I recorded it. I sat in the garden, took my phone, and started playing and singing. I’m not gonna lie, it took some tries, but I ended with something I liked :D
I'm not a very good guitar player, I don't have a lot of experience playing it. The way I learned was by playing random stuff I enjoyed, sometimes by ear, sometimes searching for the chords on the internet. So yeah, don't expect some amazing playing, just a teen having a good time in a patagonic garden (✿◠‿◠)
I used REAPER to add some effects: reverb, eq, compression, and that stuff. Also I added some ambient sound from the same garden from other recordings I had at the start and end of the track.
NITW is a game that I really love. Not only did I have a lot of good moments playing it- tears of laugh and emotion, but it also teached me very important things about life. I feel like it influenced a lot in the way I interact with people; it basically gave me a lesson about humans: we are amazing, the world is full of beautiful individuals made of love.
I learned a lot in the process of making this, it’s very different from all the other things I made and that’s always cool, so I'm very happy for submitting something ^ ^

I've been meaning to play play NITW for a while, listening to this makes me think I might end up getting it. I really love the aesthetic you have going on, it's so peaceful and relaxing. Now I want to chill outside with some iced tea while listening to the trees and birds. Great job!

This was so 'real'
This type of music playing really speaks to me. It sounds as nature intended. I was happy to see someone else inspired by nature and the garden. When I was looking for ideas, that's where I went ^_^  It's a great place to really take in where we are, and forget about our daily lives. Wonderful calming cover. I wouldn't change a thing. You should be proud of your work.

I don't know that game, but your song is good, especially for someone who doesn't play guitar a lot! That sounds very good, really like the dog barking in the very end^^

Developer(+1)

wooo thank you so so much! really, I appreciate it a lot.

and yeah, I LOVE having different kinds of sounds in my tracks, it's something I can't escape lol. so the dogs barking and the gate opening were super welcomed in the recording ^^

Damn, that's beautiful. So raw and peaceful and serene. Just a really human take on this music, which I think really fits NITW well. I can imagine this being used as a credits music, it would be a really great vibe for having just finished the game

wow, that's a beautiful thing to hear.

This is an excellent one-take recording where you had no metronome or fancy computer equipment to hide behind. You made something vulnerable and I think it turned out beautiful. I admire you making something even though you didn't have the normal tools at hand. You also shouldn't sell yourself short on your guitar-playing! I really enjoyed the fireside vibe of this track. Keep up the good work!
